Dansby is a crucial cog.
Dansby has a career +OPS of 89, has never won a gold glove and has only even been a finalist in the covid season when defensive metrics were thrown off. He's very mediocre. Though if memory serves you like to argue that he is a top 5 SS in baseball.

Dansby also hit a huge HR late in a pivotal WS game. Not sure what that stat is called.

If you think Dansby is a mediocre defensive SS, then I can't take you seriously and we are done in this conversation.

Ridiculous.

Braves playing it smart. Paying Freddie big money is a terrible idea for a mid market team.

Olson is much younger, under team control the next two years and arguably just as good as Freddie.

Overall this team is still setup to win now, and still has financial flexibility to keep adding pieces

I wouldn't be shocked to see Dansby take over the leadership role in the clubhouse w/Freddie gone. He has leader written all over him.

How many actual elite years does Freeman have left. I would argue around 2 to 3 before he starts declining. Joey Votto is probably the only first baseman still producing over 35 and that’s because he has an elite eye for the strike zone.

You either can't read or you are on the spectrum.

If he goes anywhere but LA or SD, it'll be clear this was him getting the biggest payday he could get. Which is his prerogative and I'm fine with that. But it'll also make me appreciate the trade even more.

I really hope that SD slips in and takes him from LA.

I hope it's Toronto, would at least be able to stomach it a little bit if he's in the AL.

They keep saying the Rays are involved which is really odd.

That would be ideal for me but no way that happens. I'd love to see all his offers.
