The offense is still the problem. If our pitching isn’t perfect we cannot win. There is no wiggle room in any game we play.
ETA padres score 8, Yankees 9. This team cannot do that.

well then this season ends tomm. add another choke to our huge running list of playoff choke jobs or bed wetting.
theyll have to prove me wrong. i will lay money on philly. i will take the loss if it helps us win the game. its classic braves fold like a cheap tent tho after having a lead in a series and a closeout game.

I'm still confused why Suarez is on the roster if we're not going to use him in high-leverage spots.
That was literally what he brought in to do, yet we turned to not-fully-confident Didi in back to back games.

The Padres faced Matt Boyd, and the Yankees scored 8 of their runs against the Red Sox unimpressive bullpen. Those aren't good offensive teams, either, they just got lucky with their matchups.
We lost this game because of a terrible decision to put Lee in the game.

Homie, this offense has been notorious for making Nats starting pitchers with ERA's over 4 look competent. We faced broken and rusty Jesus Luzardo yesterday who hadn't thrown more than 5 pitches in over a month.
If you think this offense is just getting unlucky with the pitching matchups, I have some amazing beachfront property in Kansas to show you.

This team has gotten steamrolled by dogshit starters all season. The offense is arse.

Literally have a wOBA that is one of the worst in the league since the All Star Break.
Matt Boyd goes 6.1 IP scoreless against us more than likely

which is why i was thinking even if by some miracle we escape this series and win tomm. what will we do when we face much better quality starters?
dodgers would steamroll us i would think.

Dude, I don't recall saying the Braves offense was some amazing force of nature. I said those teams got lucky with matchups. And that is simply the truth. Those teams, most times, struggle to score just like the Braves do. They wouldn't have put up those runs if they were facing decent pitching.
Our offense is the same way. They can suck against a bad pitcher, or they can score 15 runs. The whole lineup is streaky. But they won't hit good pitching. You had a lead in this game. and you blew it with a bad decision.

I didn’t get that either. If he’s healthy, put him out there.
That outing last weekend in Miami has stayed with Didi. Not sure why you are throwing him in a completely meaningless game if you were going to run him out there back to back days this week.

Again... one of the worst wOBA's in the league.
You're way overvaluing this offense. It's the worst of the teams left in the postseason.

Not because of the offense... because Harper misread a can of corn.

We scored 5 runs yesterday, and we didn't face a single pitcher who was dog crap. You're going to have to eek out runs, even if you have a good offense, when you face good pitching. It would be a heck of a lot easier to score 8 or 9 runs if we had Matt Boyd on the other side.
Because yes, we can get shut down by a rookie who no one's ever heard of, but we have also lit those guys up at times. It's no different for some of those other teams in the playoffs. They had a random good day. I'm not worried about that. I'm far more concerned that we don't have the starting pitching depth to match up with other top starters, and we blew Mahle's start.

Just an absolute dogshit take.
Calling this offense streaky because you're afraid to say it's bad as if that makes you a bad fan or something.

I'm not overvaluing them, I'm stating a fact. It's a lineup built for slug, and if they slug, they score, if they don't, well, they don't.
Was Riley's homer a can of corn yesterday? It doesn't matter how runs or scored, it matters that you score them, and you don't give games away late. Harper drops a fly ball, but Olson also hits a rocket that should have cleared the bases, but finds a glove. We can play the "luck" game all day.

And the bad take continues.
Yes, Riley hit a home run yesterday. He's a professional baseball player... they do that.
Doesn't negate the fact that he is a big reason why this offense has been one of the worst in the league this season.

You are easily the worst poster on this site. You know pretty much nothing about baseball. So this is a pretty ironic "take" coming from you.

I said the entire lineup is streaky. How about reading what I say? It's not like everybody goes into a slump, and then everybody gets hot, all at the same time. But there have been months this season where we had enough guys hot to score a good number of runs.
They finished 8th in runs in baseball. What part of that do you not comprehend? Good offense? No. Bad offense? Sometimes. Bad all the time? Clearly not. It is a frustrating offense, because they don't take walks, and rely way too much on slug. but you don't finished 8th in runs if you are totally inept.

We wouldn't see better quality starters than Luzardo, Sanchez, and Wheeler. That's the best rotation in the playoffs, IMO.

Says I don't know baseball then uses runs to qualify how good an offense is.
What an outstanding self-own. Thanks for making this easy

And there he goes, ladies and gentlemen. Ignoring statistical facts that show what ignorant narrative he's pushing at a given moment to be either completely false, or highly exaggerated, and he responds with a laughing emoji.
You're a child.

Homie, you lost.
You brought a chopstick (runs) to a bazooka fight.
