Good news is we're guaranteed a full stadium now.
Need to do everything we can to keep our crowd engaged and loud. Can't give up a 1st inning run for a third straight game.

Nola has figured something out the last month and a half after being objectively terrible most of the season, he pitched really well against us his last time out.
Have to get to him early, especially with Wheeler waiting in the wings. As weird as it sounds, the sooner we get to Wheeler the better. Can't have Nola go 5+ and it be close game with Wheeler there to finish the job.
The fact that Philly has gotten this far without using their bullpen at all outside of Duran is a problem. The more pitches their pen throws, the better chance we have to win this series.

6-4 Braves win tonight. This will be remembered as the Drake Baldwin game. Money Mike will also produce. Let’s go.

LSU fans are pulling for Nola.

Love Aaron, known him since he was 12. A genuinely good dude.
I hope we put 7 runs on him in the first inning. He would rather be fishing the gulf than playing baseball anyway.

On the plus side, we won't have a lefty pitcher on their side killing Baldwin, Olson and Harris with a ton of sliders, sinkers, etc.
I feel better about Ronnie, Dubon and the rest of the RH bats vs. Nola than what we have seen against Luzardo and Sanchez so far.

If I’m the Phillies, I’d prefer not using Wheeler at all. It’s risky, but the fact that they’re not starting him on three days rest today creates that possibility.
Of course, game situation will determine how that goes, but if the Phillies can build a 2+ run lead and have Nola go 5-6 innings, they would be set up to have Wheeler start game 1 of the next series. If I didn’t have that possibility in mind, I’m 100% starting Wheeler tonight.

They used Wheeler in game 162 because they needed a win, instead of holding him for what was then a potential Wild Card Game 1 start.
If the game isn't decided when it's time to pull Nola, he will be the first arm they turn to, especially considering how bad their bullpen is.

Is there a scenario where Sale comes out of the bullpen to pitch to Schwarber and Harper if the game is on the line?

NFW after 1 day rest and he went what? 6.1 innings?

I get that, but you say they started him in game 162 because it was a must win. It doesn’t get any more must win than tonight.
I’m simply stating that the possibility of not using Wheeler at all tonight has to at least be partial motivation for starting Nola tonight. Otherwise, just start Wheeler on three days rest.

He's never started on short rest in his entire career, so that may have something to do with the decision. idk.
