We had 6th best odds to get the top pick in the draft lottery, but we ended up getting the 9th overall pick.

MLB offseason is the worst.
Especially under AA as a Braves fan. You have to go in with the expectation he isn’t going to make a splash of any kind.

Good depth signing.

This will allow both Ronnie and Profar to DH.

And if Jimenez is good to go then you're looking at Jimenez-Lee-Iggy-Suarez on the back end.

That's filthy

Now need to get a bat or two so we can actually use them to hold a lead.

Like the Yaz signing a lot. Very consistent, creates a lot of flexibility, really like the skill set. Great eye and elite OF defense with some real pop against righties. Great 4th OF.

Suarez is eh. Old and doesn’t strike out enough guys for that kind of investment.

Not a fan at all of how much $$ AA invests in the BP. This has been an issue his entire tenure.

Even in 2021 they had $20M invested in Chris Martin, Drew Smyly (I know he was a swing guy) and Shane Greene.

Only $4m between Jackson, Minter, Matzek.

Got very lucky that Will Smith somehow became good for a month but he was making $13m too.

Just way too many high $ guys when you should be using that on aircraft carrier everyday players and finding and developing cheap BP arms.

Wren was very very good at building bullpens without using significant payroll.

Yes. I’ve seen it every year under AA. Just not a fan of how he builds bullpens. I’m far from an AA hater compared to most. They’ve burned a lot of $$ on relievers who have sucked. Yes they’ve hit on a few but I don’t think it’s wise to spend 15% of your payroll on 2 35 year old relievers when you don’t have an everyday shortstop.
