Teal aspires to be powder blue. The ‘90s was so bad for sports logos and uniforms. Almost every team lost its mind and adopted their worst logo/uniform set.

I've always thought that the early 70's Dolphins uniform with the teal jersey (without the arm stripes) was one of the very best ever. Simple but works...

Teal works for cities near the ocean or who have a marine based theme, Sharks, Mariners, Dolphins, or Jacksonville being in Florida.

Teal doesn't work for Grizzlies, Pistons, etc.

When teal makes sense it's an awesome color combo for uniforms. When it doesn't it just looks forced.

Don't forget the outside and all of the seats of the Georgia Dome when it first opened in the early 90's were teal. It made absolutely no sense but the architect insisted that teal was the new thing. Arthur changed the outside, at least, after he bought the Falcons

But they were Starter, of course

I don't have an issue with the teal at all.

The issue you should have was with the shitty design and god-awful logos.

This was the real crime of the 90s:

When they finally built the new high school in the Lafayette area near where I live7 year or so ago, my son was in 9th grade and would be transferring to it in the fall, and him and a handful of other students were chosen to pick the colors and mascot.

They went with this...Teal & Navy.

I thought it was funny.

Yep.

Also, as far as 90s uniform concepts, most of them were cheesy and awful, but the Orlando Magic original pinstripes with the classic star font and the star on the side of the shorts are still, to this day, the best uniforms in the NBA. I really wish they’d go back to those as the standards.

Teal doesn't work for Grizzlies,

Vancouver is on the water, connected by water to the Pacific Ocean, as much so as Seattle:

The Philadelphia Eagles, New York Islanders, Seattle Mariners... teal, teal, and "hey look!" even more teal.

The Philadelphia Eagles' midnight green is not even close to being teal, aqua, turquoise, jade, seafoam green, or whatever term you might want to apply for a blue-green mix.

Looking back, the Detroit pistons change was that most questionable, but for whatever reason it worked for the 90’s.
WOTS is that they are bringing the teal jerseys back as an alternate jersey for next season.
