Benton won game 2 4-3 and then game 3 of the series 1-0. Benton’s Webb had a perfect game going into the 7th.

semifinals are set

Division 1 Non Select-
#5 Benton comes back and wins 1-0 over sulphur and will now travel to Live Oak. Live oak Catcher hit another walk off HR to defeat northshore 3-2. Both teams are struggling compared to earlier in the year, but I look for Live Oak to pull it out and make the finals.

Sam houston sweeps slidell and will now travel across the river to district rival Barbe who swept dutchtown. The two lefties from Barbe had another stellar round allowing 0 runs. Barbe has not surrendered a run in the playoffs. Sam Houston is smoking hot right now and seems to be a team of destiny. I predicting a 3 game series that comes down to the very end. Going to give Barbe the edge in the end only because of the home field advantage. Sam Houston has stellar pitching staff too and I look for all games to be extremely low scoring.

Division 1 Select
Pure chalk in this division with only STM needing 3 games to defeat Jesuit.

got STM traveling the basin to go face Catholic. I look for Catholic to continue to roll here with too much depth.

then a rematch from regular season with catholic league rivals Brother Martin traveling to Holy Cross. I look for BM to continue the regular season. BM is 18-2 in their last 20 and its playing their best baseball at the right time with a big senior class that has quite a few kids from the eastbank LL team that won it all.

Division 2 Non Select
again pure chalk but not as easy for the bottom side of the bracket.

on the top we have West Ouachita traveling to Brusly. Both teams have been dominant in the playoffs but i look for Brusly to pull it out in 3 games

on the bottom side we have Lutcher at North Desoto. Lutcher is your defending champion and is battle tested but is reeling with injuries. I look for North Desoto to pull this one out due ot the injuries but this is going out on a limb. Lutcher is more talented, better coached and more battle tested. I just dunno if the energy will be there with the injuries

Division 2 Select
We are seeing the traditional Bayou powerhouses in VC and ED White starting to get hot.

but Vanderbilt Catholic has to travel to Teurlings Catholics. Right now TC is a Buzz saw and I look for them to continue that and be in Sulphur in the finals

on the bottom side of the bracket we saw some chaos. Ed white swept St Charles amd will now travel to Hannan who upset Loyola Prep. I look for the playoff experience of ED White to show here and for them to sweep and meet TC in the finals.

Division 3 Non Select-

Westlake takes care of business and sweeps Kaplan behind big pitching performances and will now travel to Sterlington. Sterlington has been the big bad wolf of the division but struggled with french settlement. Nothing confirmed on the injury front but the big arms for Sterlington did not pitch, but did pull them through with the bats. I look for Westlake to take Game 1 but Sterlington to claw back and take games 2 & 3 in close match ups.

South Beau continued their run of playoff dominance and will not travel to an extremely talented Erath team. Both teams are coached very well by Deville and Picard and this will be a great matchup. Erath is the more talented team imo and won the regular season game 15-3. I look for Erath to take game 1, SB game 2 and Erath game 3 and face Sterlington in the finals in Sulphur.

Division 3 Select

Durham fresh off the huge upset of Parkview Baptist will travel to Catholic NI who had an extremely tough series against St Louis. I look for Durham to take game 1 but Catholic NI to take games 2 & 3 behind their 2 monster arms and move on to Sulphur

Bottom of the bracket has been chalk and Uhigh will host Pope John Paul. Uhigh is the more talented team and the most talented team left in the division now that PVB is out. I think Uhigh Sweeps behind the playoff experience that comes from being the defending champs and they move on to sulphur to defend the title.

Division 4/B/C
quaterfinal matchups will be played over the next 4 days with most on thursday and friday.

i must say the lack of discussion this year in this thread has been disappointing. I dunno if its because its pinned at the bottom or what but way less discussion this year that normal.

What is the one semifinal you are most looking forward to?

Barbe Sam Houston will be packed especially with the lack of video usually allowed at Barbe. This is another Finals series that should be a good one. I might be wrong but the team I thought early this year is in the finals and think they can knock off the one seed.

I doubt very seriously that Live Oak wants to run into Barbe again after the way they beat them down very early in the year. Hit 4 or 5 out and really beat them like a drum at Barbe, you can guarantee Cechinni has that one circled

That doesn't scare Sam Houston. When you get no hit and win, you fear no man. I'm pulling for the Broncos. Hope this is their year.

After watching Sam Houston a couple times this year, I was surprised when looking at their record that Barbe held them to 0 and 1 runs in their two games.

I wouldn’t have thought any staff was going to do that.

as it should be, SH is playing its best ball right now. I hate they are on same side of the bracket as Barbe and Barbe isnt swinging it very well right now. I think it goes to 3 with all 3 being very close and coin flip for third game. Going to choose barbe but that is only based of history.

i mean WM no hit them the first game and only allowed like 2 hits the second game and still lost because SH is so good at other things.

i mean with the way their catcher has been hitting home runs would it be any surprise to see him hit 1 or 2 a game in every series? wouldnt surprise me any.
