Wrong. Tiger never had this level of competition in his hey Day
regardless of his competition, look at his scoring average in his prime and compare it to the young guys. It's not even close. Who cares about his competition, he beat the golf courses, which is the ultimate equalizer. And he did it with inferior equipment. Tiger has the 4 lowest season scoring averages in PGA Tour history and 5 of the top 8. And in the adjusted Varden scoring averages Tiger has the top 6 of all time. None of these young guys are anywhere to be found. They do not have the consistency Tiger had. And the notion of the inferior competition is over-exaggerated IMO

The field is deeper than it was in Tiger's hey day. Tiger was still better in his prime than all these guys are.
It's ok for both things to be true.

His dominance of the game in his prime was nothing short of impossible and will never be replicated. Out of 381 official events he placed in the top 10 225 times. He fricking won 90 of those.
He will never be the old Tiger, but to say he isn’t the best just isn’t true.

Jack Nicklaus won majors 22 years apart or thereabouts

I had to avoid the Tiger talk in here the first few days and couldn't watch much at the office, anyway, since these Augusta c-suckers think I should be grateful to stream a couple of groups and holes. Well, that's over and I'm here for the weekend.
#teamspieth for me. I'll be rocking his moving day UA shirt I coincidentally bought a few weeks ago. Last thought is I
at you guys trying to engage Peej in serious discussions about golf course/tournament difficulty. He was probably 16 BUD HEAVYS deep at that point. Anyway, let's do this.

To me and I’ll be in minority here but the US Open needs to be played at 7 courses Pebble Shinnecock Winged Foot Chambers Bay Merion Olympic Congressional
If there was to be a U.S. Open "rotation" that wouldn't be it. No way they go from California to Maryland and Pennsylvania without having some course in the 3/4 of the country that lies in between having the U.S. Open. Probably need to replace Chambers Bay with Hazeltine, Medinah, or Oakland Hills.

Really want to see Rickie win his first major. Couldn't get anything going with his putter yesterday, outside of that 66-foot putt, but he's always been a good putter.

I really like how it shook out for some of the pairings we will get today.

Rickie/Louie
Thomas/One legged Tony
Spieth/DJ
Rory/Stenson
Fatrick/Leishman is just ugh

Fat Pat/Leishman is a great group. They play VERY exciting golf.

Phil just yanked his first tee shot

No matter how good of a golfer you are you can straight up shank the ball like Phil just did. What a game.

Phil: “I’m gonna try to go to the green somehow”
