Poor CBS. Tiger and Phil will be damn near done with their rounds by the time the TV coverage starts.
Phil goes off at 9:20, Tiger at 9:40 and coverage starts at 2PM.

Both Tiger and Phil part of the featured groups on Saturday morning. Spieth/DJ, Stenson/Rory in afternoon. #TheMasters
That's exciting, but I doubt we'll see much tomorrow with the weather.

The top 10 of this leaderboard is absolutely sick.
JT, DJ, Spieth, Rory, Fowler, Rose, Reed, Leish, Bubba, Oosthy, Finau, Hoffman, and Stenson.
To round out the top 15 you've got Rahm, Kuch, Cam Smith, and Bernd.
That's a ton of huge names.

Looks like most of the heavy stuff will be coming in right around the time the leaders are supposed to go off

Spieth and DJ paired up teeing off at 1:10 central. That will be fun.

Leaders honestly may not play a single hole tomorrow if the forecast holds true

According to accuweather it’s not supposed to thunderstorm until close to 8:00 pm. As long as there’s no lightning in the area they will play.

Like it or not, the young guys don't move the needle yet.

Do markers putt always?
No, but they do almost every hole. Really the only time they won’t is if they’re slowing up play too much.

I’d watch a Knox v Casey pairing for sure. Will be the most exciting thing of the morning

Correct. People hate Tiger and the game is just fine without him, but he is the needle. ESPN's overnight ratings were up 40% Thursday to Friday. Hmm, wonder why?
That said, the leaderboard is stacked and Saturday and Sunday will be amazing. Hopefully someone goes and wins it and nobody loses it.

That is a damn shame cause these young guys play way more fearless than the bunch that was chasing Tiger back in the day. Should be some great golf the next two days.
Posted on 4/6/18 at 9:38 pm to golfntiger32
The problem with the young guys is none of them can dominate for any decent stretch of time.
You get a year or so or Rory
A year or so of DJ
A year or so of Day
A year or so of Spieth
A year or so of JT
Etc, etc
That just isn’t captivating for the average fan, that’s what always separated Tiger, seemed like he always contended even when his game wasn’t top notch, the younger guys just seem so boom or bust all the time
Obviously them being boom or bust is generalizing a whole bunch

I think Chambers Bay will end up being that course you just say damn this is impossible
I can’t wait until the open goes back there and it’s not as new
Same. That course is going to be so awesome when it's in good condition.
The funny thing about Chambers Bay (and I've played it twice) is that it is usually super lush and insanely long because of the moisture, even in June. Those run outs and so forth are a bug, not a feature, of the course.
The last time I played it was 3 years before the U.S. Open there, but it was in late June, and I was having balls plug all over the place. The USGA tricked that place up to holy high hell.
Another thing about that course (similar to Augusta, from what I've heard - never been there) is that TV 1000% does not do the undulation and elevation change justice. Chambers Bay is basically on the side of a mountain/plateau that runs from the peak in a direct slope to the ocean.

Wrong. Tiger never had this level of competition in his hey Day
Posted on 4/6/18 at 11:03 pm to Tiger Ryno
Whatever you think of his level of competition, he still did what he did
ETA: and these younger guys are still missing a ton of cuts, hence the inconsistency.
Spieth already has more missed cuts than Tiger has had his whole career
