Hope he makes it on that

How close to the 72nd hole do we need to get before we put any sort of hopes into Finau?
It would be great if he could do this.

With Brooks making bogey the cut has moved to +5.
I hope the USGA absolutely lets it rip this weekend now that there are fewer people who need to get thru the course.

Dan Hicks comparing Cantlay and Finau’s major record is a little dumb.
Finau has ten top 10s and four top 5s.
Cantlay has four top 10s and one top 5.

Molinari, Fitzpatrick, Koepka, Theegala, Scheffler, Fleetwod, Cam Young, and Shane Lowry are some of the bigger names that made the cut at +5.

Lower. He'll go 62-62 and win by 10.

That's actually close to what I meant but my brain clicked over to par 72 when I was typing

Bryson sometimes tries too hard to be normal/relatable. You can tell he’s acting like someone who he thinks we’ll think is cool.
i mean he's a nerd. but he's a golf nerd and he is very smart in his approach. i have no problem with it.
golf needs a guy like that, and noone can argue with his results especially this year.

It sure is sad watching tiger struggle on the course. His magic is long gone and he seems to labor greatly bear the end of each round.
It is.
The Tiger bros at Pinehurst would tell you that Friday was the greatest +3 round EVER recorded in US Open history.

I think Tiger’s Friday round was encouraging. Physically he looked the best he has in a while to me. He hit the ball really well, was moving well through the swing, maintaining his power, and didn’t seem to be limping too much. He just scored terribly.

If Aberg keeps playing like he is he will be hard to beat. We'll have to see if his free flowing swing keeps producing straight balls under pressure on Sunday or if he gets the hooks again like at Augusta. Looking at his grip and swing I think that may pop up again

What dechambeau has been able to do when he has put himself in very difficult spots has been really impressive this week.
Aberg will eventually get in some of those bad spots and it'll be interesting to see how he handles it.
He's 7th on the tour in scrambling this year so I'm not saying he will frick it up, just will be interesting to see.

I was telling my wife this. He was walking normally, and at any other course, he would have made the cut easily. It is no secret he is rusty and at Pinehurst if you miss your line hardly at all you are rolling off the green. On a normal course, those balls are just long birdie putts that he two putts on the reg.
