Norris would dominate if pitched in SF ballpark all year. he is a valuable piece for a contending team and still young enough to have upside potential. The astros should be able to get a high (not uber star) prospect for him that is close to ML ready.

meh
On a positive note, it's not a flat bill.
this is the one I'm wearing....even right now. Minus the sticker. I know, it probably diminishes the value or something taking the stickers off.

I disagree with trading Bud. When are we gonna stop trading away our best players mid season for "good but not great" prospects.

It's not smart business to keep Bud. We're 100% invested in the future.
Cosart
McCullers
Folty
Appel
Buchanan
All will be up with the club soon, with the exception of McCullers. Unless we decide to make Bud the closer, he's gonna have to go at some point between now and 2 years from now

If it were me, I'd trade Wesley Wright for a youngster, bring up Cosart, move Bud to closer, and have Cisnero and Veras be the 8th inning guys

they wouldn't get more than a can of beans for Wesley wright bro. you are better than this.

I agree with looking to the future. But at some point you have to keep a couple of pieces to make the present bearable and the fans coming to games.

trading Norris makes sense with the plan Lunhow has in place.

Not really the "best" player. He's a back end of the rotation kind of guy. With alot of guys coming up and him being a little older....his value right now is through the roof........

I hope we don't blow it and miss out on Rodon. we need to tank big time in August and September. This kid is special and could you imagine our rotation with Cosart, Lyles, Rodon, Appel, Folty, McCullers, dear loard that is some YOUNG talent. Cosart or McCullers may end up being a closer but that is an incredible arsenal of arms.

Will this tv deal be done by opening day next year?
Crane was interviewed earlier this week. A deal with time warner is expected pretty soon, mayber even within a month. No word on the other major tv providers, but hopefully that helps in the talks with them.
In the same interview, he said payroll will likely increase significantly next season.

I was about to say the same thing, but I refuse to knock the team for winning, I feel like we are starting to see the wheels in motion on some of the future of this organization.
I really, really, hope we get a shot at Rodon, he is going to be a top of the rotation guy in the big leagues.

Also who knows how many wins this team would have if we faced lefties everyday
Against Lefties we are
7th in OPS, 8th in AVG, 7th in OBP
In the league
Not too shabby for a minor league club /sarcasm

Hell, even Kuechel has pitched well his last couple of starts.
at the trade deadline, I think Norris, Harrell, and Veras are all gone.

Knowing the Marlins, it wouldn't shock me that they would pass him up to save money.
at the same time, it's not like the Astros, at this point, are a lock for the #2 pick now.
