Crane was interviewed earlier this week. A deal with time warner is expected pretty soon, mayber even within a month. No word on the other major tv providers, but hopefully that helps in the talks with them.
I hope increasing the payroll means bringing in at least B- FA guys.......We talk about the minors all the time, but there's also the fact that I don't think they'd be afraid to bring in veteran guys if they feel like they can improve this team enough when it's time.

I wouldn't even call them rumors. I'd just call those throwing something around to see if something sticks at this point.

Ryno, I wasn't suggesting that we'd get a valuable piece of the puzzle for Wright. I just think it would improve the bullpen in the short term.
We'd probably get a low level Single A journeyman for Wright, and I'd be fine with that.

APPEL IS OFFICIALLY AN ASTRO!

Not a 'Stros fan at all, but I think what y'all are doing is brilliant (Nats did the same thing, even though we suck arse this year).
Also I had to pick up the new Astros hat that y'all wear on the road (blue top with the Orange bill).
And I like keeping up with Jordan Lyles as he's a South Carolina kid who was unreal in high school.
Good luck going forward.

All the Stros have to do is drop down to last place this year, take Carlos Rodan in the Draft and you have a solid future 1-2 punch in Appel and Rodan
Posted on 6/19/13 at 12:49 pm to GeauxAggie972
I don't think we'll have the first pick next year.
If we do, we better take Rodon.
If not, I really think we need another corner outfielder with a power bat

That's not counting possible FA's

Nope not counting FA's and not counting next year's draft class

Apparently Appel signed this afternoon.

So where do ya'll think Appel starts out. No need to rush him but he certainly doesn't need to go to the launchpad in Lancaster. I think Corpus is a legit option.
BTW, Singleton got promoted to AAA and F-Mart traded which likely means Springer will take over that spot.
Also, I'm not a big fan of trading just to trade. But I think it might be worth it to trade Bud this year if we can get some top prospects for him. He's pitching really well, he's got a low salary and he's controlled for a few more years. Teams might get in a bidding war for him if he can keep up his good pitching.

Luhnow said in the presser that he'll start at Tri City.
Could possibly end up in CC by season's end
