Fernando Martinez was traded to the Yankees yesterday for a bag of balls and a cup of dirt from Yankee Stadium.

Jordan Lyles continues to pitch like he's not Jordan Lyles. I think I read, in his last 7 starts.....he has a 1.71 ERA and is 3-0.

Jason Castro is on fiyah. Dude is raking like he did at Stanford. Looks like that's light #2 that has gone off for one of the Astros players.

How much should the Astros get back for Bud Norris? You know he's going to be traded. I'd love to be a fly on the wall to hear what the Astros are looking for in return.

Pedro Cerrano is in the top 10 in HR's in the AL.

If Matt Dominguez can hit for a little better average, I would be convinced that he can be an every day player in the ML. Right now, I do still think he's a backup on contending squads.....but I do like him and he's improving. He's only 23!

The Astros aren't the worst team in baseball like predicted. The Marlins are horrid. The Astros have the same amount of wins as the Mets and are approaching the White Sox, Brewers, Cubs, and Dodgers.

Not bad for the second coming of the '62 Mets, amitrite???

Any other thoughts?

Dominguez either needs to strikeout less or walk more.

carter is a stop gap. he only has 7 doubles. that is abysmal for a power hitter. He needs to walk way more or start hitting more doubles. his HR are mostly meaningless. he has a low RBI total for that amount of HR.

Lyles and Castro are true bright spots. this team can count on both of those guys I believe going forward. We may be talking about Castro being a top 3 catcher in this league by 2015. Lyles has really matured. he has size, makeup and the repeatable delivery that will allow him to throw a lot of innings. at only 22 he is a shining star for a future rotation that has the potential to be superb if even 2 or three of their top prospects work out.

Doesn't Chris Carter lead the MLB in strikeouts?

I think Castro has an excellent chance to get picked as a reserve this year.

How long before we trade him? Or are we past that phase?

That'll be a sad day when they decide to tear it down. But it needs to be done.

Castro is a part of the long term future.

Along with Altuve, JD, and Dominguez IMO.

I think Bud, Veras and Harrell get moved eventually. Lyles is looking like he's ready to lead the next wave of Astros pitching.

The future is getting brighter all the time

I don't know how anyone can hate on the Astros.

I just feel awful for them. They're like Browns fans.

The Yankees overpaid. I miss being able to watch a game whenever I wanted. Will this tv deal be done by opening day next year?

Bud is as good as gone. We all knew that before the season started......

Thing is, his value is VERY high right now. Especially for a team like the Giants. Who are in the hunt, but their pitching isn't where they want it to be. I fully expect the Astros to bring in a top prospect for Norris

The problem is everything that happened since then.
