Player Props may be the only thing that could be limited after all this is done

Baseball rule.
Lifetime excommunication. Even if law enforcement doesn't convict.
Maybe add in to all contracts you have to pay your earnings back if convicted legally.

And now according to ABC News, Billups's poker game has mob ties.
Not surprising but holy shite
Am I the only one that doesn't give a frick about a dude playing poker with members of the mafia?
Kind of dope.

Basketball in general has to be the easiest for players/refs to get away with gambling
It is. Because of the amount of scoring and scoring opportunities, along with the fact its much easier for one guy to influence a game. If the spread on a game is 10 and the fixed bet is on the under, a guy can miss a few shots here or there, make a bad turnover late, etc, to get the under but still win the game.
That's why over the last 40 years or so many of the game fixing scandals have involved basketball.

It sounds like they were luring ppl in by giving them a chance to play poker with somebody like billups ...where they games were rigged

I know for a fact, because I saw it happen several times, that LSU boosters used to give athletes chips to the Belle to avoid detection.
Now it's legal so I can get that off my chest

Billups' issue isn't just that he was playing in an illegal poker game run by the Mafia. Sounds like he was allegedly part of a team that would cheat in these poker games by using tech to read all cards dealt and defraud certain other players.

I mean, dick move, but I still don't really care. And do we know he knew? Or was he just a famous guy they paid to show up to games to attract high rollers?

I use to bet on Rozier’s player props and it would always bite me in the arse.

Individual sports would be easy as frick obviously. I wonder what golfers have done this over the years. Drop out of the top 20 and lose purse money, but make more on the side.
Tennis, too, as was said already.

We need an investigation of the US Ryder Cup team

I'm thankful this didn't reach the NFL. I'm sure part of what insulates them is having only 17 games where none are disposable. I have no doubt that the mafia has (or will) try their best.
I think in the NFL, unless it's like a QB, you'd probably have to have multiple players on the same team in on it for it to really work.

I understand why Tennis players making 50k a year do this
Why the frick does someone making 25 million get involved?

Then you may be entitled to compensation. Call Dewey, Cheatum, and Howe at 1-800-FAN-DUEL today to get your claim started.

A holding call by an OL could easily kill a drive.

The leagues should really dial it back just a bit with the sports gambling. I shouldn’t need to see player props or money lines during a broad cast or segments presented by FanDuel. They really over do it.

In private poker games? Why does the gov't care about this?
How about you just let the adults who chose to play poker together handle the situation themselves. Maybe someone just goes home unhappy they lost money and forgets about it. Maybe someone gets beat to death with a baseball bat.
I guess Billy Hoyle should have called the cops on Sydney when he double crossed him and lost on purpose in White Men Can't Jump.
Is the FBI hanging around golf courses arresting people for "gambling" when they play?
