It makes it easier You are around what you know and do. Plus he is ging to ask his players to go through things, he is leading by example.

Seems like one of those deaths where the family is, obviously sad, but probably moreso relieved that someone they loved in no longer in pain.

frick cancer, even if it's someone that's in their 90's.

Understandable, it probably helps to get back into a routine.

Not much more he can do at this point
I'm sure Tommy or another sibling can handle funeral arrangements and everything else
He can go back for the funeral later on

His old man would've wanted him to get back out there coaching and leading his players.

Everyone is different. Maybe it helps him cope with the loss by simply getting back to work. Being that his dad was a long time HC he knows that is probably what his dad would want.

Even if it's unexpected like Brett Favre's dad there is a job to do / life to live. Favre played the next day & didn't miss a game I don't think.

Many great athletes/ coaches have suffered painful & unexpected family deaths. Earth keeps spinning.

I hope I didn't give the impression I think him doing this is wrong. But it can't be easy.

You've got to keep living.

Getting into a routine again with work is a great coping mechanism in my experience.

There's no such thing as a good death but living to 91 and being able to prepare for it and be there with family is about as good as it can get
