Media didn't hold back at all

Tepper also owns CLT FC (soccer) and fired their coach mid season earlier this season.

So questions were pointed towards the overall direction of both franchises not to mention was asked about the $800 mill. Practice facility thay was being built then haulted and then cancelled. His answer was terrible, talking about accountablility then how hes brought back music to CLT, and restaurants... so going off tangent.

Someone then asked about accountability for all the coaches and presidents he's been through since purchasing the teams in such a short timeframe.

Not sure how any billionaire could be embarrassed publicly but that interview was wow.

If management continually fails, it’s the fault of the ownership. Especially when it’s a trend across multiple businesses

The abandoned practice facility property officially went on the market last week for an undisclosed price.

If any of you OT ballers want to know what it's like to play NFL owner, have at it. Nothing like scooping up the deteriorating carcass of a deteriorating NFL franchise to impress the ladies.

it only takes 1 bad owner to sink a franchise

look at chicago blackhawks under wirtz as owner. they became a joke, he made it where chicagoans had to go pay per view to watch games at one time, it was ugly.

He croaks, son takes over and they win a couple cups

if father still owned them, they would still be in shite shape and no cups.

A professional sports team owner has no idea what he's doing and is running the franchise into the ground? Shocker.

Fighting with local authorities (facility was not in Charlotte proper...).

Why does that matter? The Cowboys are headquartered in Frisco and play in Arlington. Not only are they not in the city of Dallas, neither are even in Dallas county.

Practice facility was across the state line in Rock Hill, sc. supposedly the city/county weren’t holding up their end of the deal. Who really know. I would put the blame on Tepper just looking from the outside. Either way, he screwed a lot of people/companies.

Tepper's an outlier even among hedge fund managers with his outsized appetite for risk. That can bring bigger rewards if he gets his investments right, but it also means that he's used to taking big losses if things don't go his way.

So he was prepared to walk away from the practice facility deal with Rock Hill and take the L when the city didn't provide bond funding for infrastructure he expected. When the news about the impasse between him and Rock Hill came out, I figured they'd find a way to eventually come together and finish the facility but I guess Tepper said frick it and moved on.

In the world of hedge funds gambling on distressed assets, it's just par for the course but it is embarrassing when an NFL owner dumps a facility that was supposed to become a $2 billion entertainment hub for the region.

This was the plan:

Normally I see it as somewhere between both sides, but am inclined to think Tepper's a little more at fault here. Around the same time, he pulled out of the Eastland mall project in Charlotte. Also several people left around then too. Just seems like too much going on there for it to not be Tepper's fault.

I'm glad it ended up falling through. Rock Hill is my hometown I hope to get back to. That project would have completely changed the town. It's certainly changed, but that project would have taken it way further.

Big difference between Jerry and Tepper. I’m definitely not a Cowboys fan, but when Jerry walks in a room, he whips it out and says “take the deal or get to sucking. If you’re lucky, I’ll let you do both.”

CLT FC had one of the highest season ticket prices in the MLS, for their inaugural season, not a good way to start building your fan base. However, CLT finished the season Top 3 in total attendance for the year.

What does Tepper do? Raise season ticket prices to the highest in MLS. For a brand new franchise that didn’t make the playoffs their first year. Fans are pissed. What a fricking moron.

Jerry Richardson was basically a “peoples owner”. He considered the fans and loyalty to the area in a lot of what he did.

Tepper is just another rich a-hole.

This sums it up well. I always liked the Panthers since they started. I haven't given two shits about them anymore since Tepper took over.
