just don’t accept transfers from another D1 school. Bam, all leverage for the players is gone

You might have missed the part where coaches multi million dollar salaries are on the line and they aren’t just accepting transfers, but actively recruiting players from other teams and fundraising for pots of money to pay players.

The lawyer told them this was nothing compared to football and basketball where the players are in the coach's office trying to renegotiate their deals "every week" in the middle of the season.

Can’t wait for some 26 or 27 year old college player to become a weekly mercenary. I’m a 27 year old 320 lb former prison guard that is an automatic run stuffer. Playing against a Heisman hopeful running back this week? Here are my rates.

Absolutely HATE what has been done to college football to the cheers of the Mike Wilbons and Tony Kornheisers that didn't like the sport to begin with

Cowherd is the absolute worst with this shite. Basically brags on TV about how the networks are turning CFB into the NFL model.

Where would he end up? He can't go to another SEC school, he's kind of middling

FSU is the perfect landing sport for a physically gifted, overrated, former 5* Polynesian QB

2600 yards passing in todays game is so average

57/130 in yards
43rd in TD’s at 19
43rd in completion % at 63+%

Perfectly average

Then the players take the schools to court alleging collusion and win. The players have the schools by the nuts, and all parties know it.

End college sports then. Just end it. Blow it all up and the players in football can cry

Maybe I missed it but if he’s under contract, then these “contracts” must not be worth the paper they’re written on. Seems completely illogical that you’d not be enjoined to abide by the basic tenets of the contract

Buyouts should be administered across the board.

Great job on Tennessee telling him screw of. Just wish some other big school wasn’t going to be waiting for him with a larger bag of money. Wish he had to go D2 and live in dorms

I find it hard to believe anyone will pay him 4 million a year.

Hell yeah Tennessee. Good for them.

Why overpay for this dude after the VERY average season he had a year ago?

There's only a few schools that could afford to pay him 4 mil a year, and many of those are set at QB. This could backfire on them.

Within a few years the Alabama starting QB will be the LSU QB, whose former QB is at Ole Miss, whose former QB is at Florida, whose former QB is at Auburn, whose former QB is getting 10 million from BYU after they decided to open their bank account and buy everyone.

I have no idea how college football teams can build teamwork, much less run anything too complicated.
