How many more offseasons are we going to get of this shite before it dawns on the right people that changes are warranted?

the people making these retarded decisions are no doubt raking in money hand over first, so I doubt they give the slightest shite.

If he leaves, who does Tennessee try to poach?

What dominoes could fall?

ETA: Didn't Carson Beck break up with the Miami Women's Hoops player?

NEW: Tennessee & Nico Iamaleava are in active contract negotiations ahead of the 2025 season, @PeteNakos_ reports.

NIL is supposed to not be an incentive to enroll and not supposed to be between the school and the student. The NCAA has 1 fricking rule on NIL, enforce it.

What you guys are missing is that the schools could stop it tomorrow - just don’t accept transfers from another D1 school. Bam, all leverage for the players is gone and Nico would be happy getting what he’s getting. I don’t fault the players one bit, I fault the schools. They are the ones giving the players the leverage. Just don’t accept transfers and the schools would all save money and the players would go back to being team players. But since the schools won’t because they believe they can win they continue to perpetuate this system.

The adults in the room allowed pure greed to destroy the Pac-12 conference in a matter of weeks. Greed is the only reason Oklahoma and the Shorthorns are in the SEC. It's the greedy adults who treat each passing transfer cycle as an opportunity to buy their way to a title. In a few days, the latest version of the Jackson Barrett Auction of College Football begins again. Teams, like Tennessee, are desperately trying to keep their QB from heading that way.

The problem has always been and will always be the adults in the room.

Where would he end up? He can't go to another SEC school, he's kind of middling, he's going to cost a lot of $$$, he would be coming in after the spring - so it's got to be a desperate program with more money than sense.

Then the players take the schools to court alleging collusion and win. The players have the schools by the nuts, and all parties know it.

And they would be sued into oblivion for collusion and lose rapidly.

Not making them employees and writing in buyouts into the contracts is what the issue is.

Agree. Dude was so mediocre last year. I'd tell him good luck and move on to QB2. These schools have to start calling these bluffs or letting kids walk

2600 yards passing in todays game is so average. By the end of the year last year they were scared to let him even throw the ball

The powerhouses (you guys) wanted this. It's a big reason you rule in effectively all of the major sports.
