How do 2 Alabama loses in the middle of them winning a billion championship make the list?

Oh they must have really dwelled on those for an off-season befor almost immediately winning another Championship.

For me, it's the 83 Orange Bowl. All Nebraska had to do was kick the XP and they would've gone home with the national championship. Osborne went for the win instead.

Most people have way more respect for Nebraska than if they kick the XP and get the title. No one would really remember that year 40 years later if not for the balls on Tom Osborne.

Not really depressing for me, per se, but

CU - 62
NU - 36

It essentially destroyed that program. They’ve never recovered.

People forget the triple OT loss to Arkansas in 2007 was a gut punch for LSU. Before the craziest weekend in college football history happened

Hiring Bill Callahan is what killed their program. As a Raiders fan, I was in complete shock that they hired after the shitshow in Oakland.

Crazy that the last two responses would be teams that would go on the play for the national title in their respective seasons.

I would think A&M losing 77-0 to OU would be pretty depressing

Most of these other games are teams that get to big games occasionally. That one just served to tell A&M how far they were from that level

6. MICHIGAN’S PUNT BLUNDER AGAINST MICHIGAN STATE IN 2015

I find this the funniest one.

What killed the Nebraska program was having to get rid of the option…..

Not a ND fan but I’d have to believe that the ‘93 Boston College game caused a mild depression amongst the fan base. Cost them a National Championship.

I always love lists like this because they seem to forget that college football was played before 2000.

Seriously, there are a lot of older games they could've gone with.

Just off the top of my head, the '97 Michigan State-Ohio State game, the '97 Rose Bowl between Ohio State and Arizona State, Wide Right I & II, the '79 LSU-USC game, and Punt Bama Punt.

Even some old ties were brutal, like '66 ND-Michigan State, the Choke at Doak, and Harvard "beating" Yale 29-29.

Mine is a LSU vs Bama in 2012….but not the natty…the rematch the following season in tiger stadium…losing that one how we did hurt for long time, we win that we had shot for NC.
