But this site doesn't rank 1AA teams. There are about 30 or so 1AA teams better than ULM. But still not bad 99/120. Especially when the budget is 120/120.
Tech #89
ULM #99
ULM has nowhere near the program Tech has.
900th reply!!! frick Tech and give them AIDS!

geezum xiv,
i've followed this thread for a while now, but what's your underlying beef with Tech.
kind of like picking on the spelling bee champ of your high school man...

I hope it's a permanent thing. There is simply no reason that game shouldn't be played every year.
Same should be said for ULL/McNeese. Regardless of classification. This used to be a HUGE rivalry and it showed that it would still draw numbers when they played a couple years ago.
Yet, ULL doesn't want anything to do with it.

I thought I'd mentioned that a million times in this thread.

i figured there must be something more there...
i handle tech fans kind of like i handle the byu football smack talkers at work from utah...i just laugh at there smack and would tell them which did eventually happen.
they will lose and therefore never play in a big time bowl game and therefore never grow as a program and therefore will never have legitimate reason to talk smack in the first place.

Comparing Tech to BYU is almost as bad as comparing Tech to LSU. BYU actually won a national title once, and they're easily in the top 5 of non-BCS schools.

i'm not jumping into to debate with you.
i could give a shite about the status of either program.
just stating, you should pay tech fan's no mind they are dilussional.

That's true. The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. Pay us no mind and we might want to play y'all again.

The biggest difference between Tech - ULM and ULL - McNeese is that McNeese actually beat ULL the last time they played.
The last few times Tech played ULM is wasn't pretty for ULM...
That maybe part of the problem. IF ULM would have a winning season or win the belt then they would have a better gripe. For now they don't even matter to their real home fans in Monroe much less Tech fans.

It's been 8 years since we last played each other. It really shouldn't matter if it was pretty or not. It was a good rivalry with each team having good years and bad years.

Can't argue with you on this one. The people of Monroe suck when it comes to supporting ULM. It is going to take some MAJOR improvements for them to return back to Malone in force. Or maybe a Tech game???
By the way, Tech was down for a few years pre-Dooley and ULM wasn't half bad (04-07), so who knows how those games would have turned out had they been played. No way to know though.

you're laughing at that idea, but it probably would work, at least a little bit.

If WM played first everyone would leave because the better team was done. This thread is longer than an actual game
Notre Dame plays weak schools at neutral sites for recruting purposes. For a NLU home game, play Notre Dame in the Superdome or Dallas. The large crowd of Notre Dame fans would keep NLU in Div 1

They need to put a barricade on I-20 from Friday Night to Sunday morning to keep all the Monroe folks from travelling down to Baton Rouge!

- LSU gets on tv virtually every week
- LSU is a national powerhouse
- Tech/ULM interest/attendance stagnates
Simple little questionaire for you:
1. Which would you rather do?
-- a) Watch ULM play Arkansas State in person.
-- b) Stay at home and listen to LSU and Ole Miss on the radio.
2. Which would you rather do?

There's a lot to deduce from that.

Were any of you Tech fans watching your dogs when Billy Rickman was wowing the crowd?

My first memory of NLU was in 1987, when my dad and I drove from our home in Shreveport to Natchitoches to see the Indians take on the Demons. We tried to beat traffic as the Demons appeared to have a victory wrapped up; we missed the famous Humphries-to-Harris Hail Mary at the gun

I was at all three playoff games in Monroe that year, including the game against Eastern Kentucky when future Patriots kicker Teddy Garcia nailed a 52-yarder in the final minute to beat the Colonels (led by legendary coach Roy Kidd) 33-32.
