Visited Duke once. I thought Cameron Indoor was a dorm/dining hall until I saw the sign. Looks absolutely nothing like a basketball arena in terms of both size and architecture from the outside.

My dad took me to visit colleges after my junior year of high school. Went to Duke, summer time, and no one was around. Cameron’s doors were open so we walked in. Rack of balls just sitting there. We each grabbed one and shot around for ten minutes. Put the balls back on the rack and walked out.
So my CSB is, yes, I’ve hit a three in Cameron.
Rose Hill at Fordham is not only tiny, it’s also the oldest basketball only venue.

Duke is like stepping back in time. Which I enjoyed.
Their concession stands were like 8’ wide holes in the wall and probably 5’ deep. Not big enough to cook or sell hot dogs, etc. Only had 1 or 2 employees manning them. Simply offered fountain drinks, M&Ms, bags of popcorn.

Tennessee's baseball stadium only holds about 4,300 people. It's tiny.

This thread got me wondering what the smallest D1 arenas are.
USC Upstate’s holds 878. Three less than Charleston Southern which holds a whopping 881.

It's still there, just not used by their hoops team.

Man I walked by the carolina Coliseum today, and it always makes me so sad to see such a great Basketball venue that was home to some really good basketball, just sit there idle (aside from class rooms and practice). It was one of the truly great places to watch a game, and now it just sits to wait until the university kills it off.
seriously breaks my heart. If your school has a great venue that may be small on numbers but is built for basketball, keep it at all costs

Had no idea it only held ~9300.

It’s extremely hard to get a ticket to an ACC game unless you want to pay a lot of money (or you have connections). Ticket prices were crazy when Zion was there.
Coach K’s last home game (vs UNC of course) is reaching Super Bowl ticket levels.
Cheapest ticket is $3,000.

I can't remember what school it was (Maybe Grand Canyon U?), but someone used to play their basketball games on the stage of their on campus theater
ETA: It was UT- Arlington

I walked into KU arena. It looked small on inside but seats quite a few. A really cool basketball arena with the wooden seats. Historic place.

This. I wish we could have at least one game there a year.
It truly had one of those unique, college feels. The Colonial Life Arena is fine and all but it's so cookie-cutter - which it was designed to be as a way to attract other events besides our basketball games.
The Coliseum seats about 6k less but was way louder as the fans were right on top of you. No upper deck, just steep seats on all sides.
Before all the construction that is now in front of the Coliseum, one of my favorite views of Columbia was coming over the Knox Abbott bridge with the Coliseum in the foreground.

Before they renovated Tudor/Autry, Rice had the Blue Curtain. Very intimating and there was always intrigue from visiting fans/players.
What was behind there? Badminton courts for students!

Autry was a really cool quirky small arena. Rice hoops has been perpetually terrible otherwise it would have been a very tough place to play
The alternate on campus gyms for schools like Villanova and Seton Hall that play at larger pro arenas are always interesting to me. They’re all like 5-6,000 people I think, which isn’t crazy considering the sizes of the schools. Just found it interesting they play in those for the lower profile games and NBA type arenas for the big ones

In case you thought that expansion of the conferences is a good thing for FBS, may I present to you Incarnate Word of the Southland - leaving for the WAC in the fall:
My daughter was in UIW's swimming and diving program. Their football stadium was shocking. Their bands, cheerleaders, etc. were lesser than her extremely large Cy Fair high school. I mean, that arena and field compared to the Berry Center?
However, although small, their campus is really pretty.

Unfortunately, this is like a lot of older “gyms”. I visit college campuses on our vacations. It’s a great way to stretch the legs and see some history.
Ahearn Fieldhouse at Kansas State
Gregory Gymnasium at Texas
Hearnes Center in Mizzou
I’ve liked the look of these places

wish they would convert ahearn to a modern indoor track facility. could be a cool place to watch a meet with the layout.

I was shocked at the size of Ole Miss’s stadium after growing up watching games at LSU. Ole Miss is a slightly larger LA Tech.
