While I’m sure none of these kids will die if they catch covid, what happens if they play the game and one of the other kids on vcu has Covid and passes it to an Oregon player. What happens next game if there are multiple infections?

So what? Why are we testing 20 something year olds?

Gotta give Oregon props for pulling this off in football and basketball.

If it’s so important to test these student athletes (name one, pro or college, that’s had any near death issue, you can’t) then they should have been vaccinated prior to this tournament to avoid this issue. 64 x15 (max) = less than 1000 doses for 1 dose prior to play. What a bunch of f’in mularkey. I’m just tired of the bullcrap, Coaches with masks on, mask off, playing with that thing, why are they even wearing it?? Theater, bad decisions, lawyered up scared society that’s what this is.

why make such a broad statement when trying to make a point . The Jags expected starting RB going into the season dealt with it for a few months. It was pretty bad for him.

Don’t feel bad, guys. Just two weeks to flatten the curve and things will be back to normal.

For what it’s worth, they had multiple positive tests among players apparently.

Teams are allowed to play with 5 healthy players. Apparently VCU couldn’t get 5 cleared.

this thread is hilarious to read through now. all the high and mighty "no way they should cancel for ONE player getting the flu" and "imagine having to forfeit because of a false positive". no guys, they couldn't even get 5 players and had multiple positive tests

i swear people are proud of their idiocy.

Wouldn't be surprised to see at least one more team either forfeiting or being damn close to min players needed to compete

well the longer they are in the bubble the less likely it becomes

games have been canceled due to the flu before if the team didn't have enough healthy players.

i can't believe people honestly think they should play with knowingly contagious sick players. i guess nothing should surprise me tho

Players have played in games with the flu since the beginning of organized sports without a problem. They only didn’t play if they were legitimately sick enough to prevent them from doing so.

I can’t believe anyone honestly thinks a virus that has no impact on 18-22 year olds is worth stopping a team from playing in the ncaa tournament.

That’s nice. My mother is 70+ years old and didn’t even know she had it. That means old people really aren’t at risk either.

Has your brother ever felt like shut from the flu?

It sucks when your failing attempt at an argument is thrown back in your face, doesn’t it?
