Remember when Easton was king?

UGA wins the 2008 CWS if it weren't for our frickin bats. We had a contract with Nike and were forced to use their aluminum bats. Halfway through that season Easton came out with a composite bat that many other SEC teams (and omaha teams) switched too with great success, btu we were not allowed to contractually. Playing at rosenblatt, balls that were homers all year were falling a bit short while Fresno and others had no issues. I am fully and 100000% convinced that if we were allowed to use Easton bats we win the title that year.

Same. Will go ahead and bite the bullet as soon as this season is over with in July. Hope I can find a used one cheaper in case he outgrows it by next year.

I have no idea how to interpret these stats.

There's over 3,000 homers hit on this leaderboard.
what if half the top 300 players are swinging the Louisville Slugger bat, but they only account for 30% of the homers?
What if 5% of the top 300 players are swinging the Icon, but they account for 10% of the homers?

Do you really think it matters what bat Jared Jones is swinging?

and those baseball bat bros have gotten so big and popular they are always going to lead you towards who's paying them the most money now. I still like them and what they do, but they can literally come out with a video today about "x" bat and say how great it is, and it's sales will go through the roof over the next week or so, see the new stupid arse $500 Dub bat that only has a 6 month warranty but is selling like hot cakes right now.

i mean they are owned by rawlings and easton doesnt really go after the bbcor market but easton/rawlings do dominate the youth market. Especially non alloy bats.

because in usssa the dub is the hottest bat and year in usssa bats the bat does make a difference.

Do they get paid by bat companies? The whole point of the show is to compare different bats using distances, exit velocity, durability, etc. I never get the impression they are pushing certain brands.

InB4 all the BR travel ball dads flock here to tell you that Marruci is the best bat company ever

Louisville Slugger and Demarini make much better bats

1) youth kids dont use marruci unless you want a bat that wont break or you are 8u so swinging the most balanced lightest swinging alloy you can.

only others that swing marucci below 14u is the kids that play on teams that have marucci reps as coaches or are sponsored by them.

2) this is not close to true. Now the new LS supra and the new zen are not out yet officially although some teams got demo bats early and had them at the big NIT last weekend. For the most part the LS meta was good and CF zen was fine but didnt hold a candle to the new icon, hype fire, or the new dub all from rawlings/easton or the soldier tank. for the most part those bats are way way hotter

Actually the king of 12U-13U travel ball bats is the latest bat by Easton.

The Easton Dub, drop 5 or 8, USSSA bat. Should be made illegal soon.

it wont be

easton threatened to sue PG over the hype fire ban because the bat met usssa lab specs and they had proof. so in response, PG went ahead and banned all drop five bats 12u and below

but they will not be banned and i can promise 2d has plans to ban it. Now 2d did just ban the black emerald gem 1 and 2 because certain reps from Marucci whined and whined because it didnt have ussssa stamp, only bpf 1.15 and the reps were whining because they only allow their teams to swing marucci and the black emerald is much much much hotter.

Those numbers don’t mean a thing … % matters more, as raw numbers favor which bats are used more

they better worry about fixing the paint on the damn things. that is the biggest issue.

and yall got to stop trying to get every good bat banned. let the kids have fun. Im sure you will scream about safety, yet the numbers dont show that the bats are anymore dangerous anyways.

Bet you I won't scream about safety.

It's just ridiculous when every kid on the team can check swing a ball to the oppo gap when using one.

The interesting thing is that the third bat is a budget bat at $250.

My parents bought me this bat for Christmas in 1975 before my sophomore year of high school. I was about 5'9 and 130 lbs. The bat cost $100 and that was a lot of money for a bat 50 years ago. So I got a 35-inch, 31-ounce model hoping to grow into it and I did by my junior year. But by the time I was a college senior I was using a 33-inch, 29 ounce model.

I don't get that impression either that he pushes certain brands, but he's got so much influence now on kids buying bats that there's no way bat companies aren't paying him to push their products. It would be stupid not to for the bat companies.

Ever since that first highlighter orange atlas came out it's been the most popular bat for HS players along with the goods.
