Pitcher from San Diego St has thrown up to 103 mph. His opening game he struck out 23 of the 27 batters he faced. Projected 1st pick in MLB draft.

10-0 as well. Come on down to Washington. I wish somehow that San Diego St would be sent to Baton Rouge for a super-regional like UC-Irvine last year. Would be sick.

i've read that these 100mph pitchers tend to not last long in the league, blowing out their arms.

Yep, unfortunately Scott Boras is his agent. He's already asking for 6 year/$50 million

Well, the Nationals came out and said yesterday that they were going to draft him, so I'd be willing to bet he gets close to that amount.

Damn, batters must start swinging when he starts moving... you gotta be lucky to hit that.

Strasburg has really easy mechanics. Not max effort at all and an intense training regimen to keep his arm healthy. Pitchers are always a crapshoot, most all of them get hurt at some point. Some bounce back and some don't. Nothing's guarenteed but this kid is going to be protected and has the ingredients of staying healthy.

He aint getting $50 million. The biggest deal ever for the MLB draft is like $10 million. Boras is not going to get 5 times that amount.

No chance. Him and Zimmermann.
Maybe another badass pitcher is drafted with the 10th pick too.
Strasburg has a hell of a slurve at about 81-82 mph.

Lazy and overweight coming out of high school.

Ive seen where his fastball sits at like 98-99 consistently and hits 100-102 several times in a game

No Doubt. Thats why I said pitching is a crapshoot. You never know whats going to happen. Prior's arm trouble is pretty unexplainable. Probably due to the fact that he was tremendously over pitched growing up and the Cubs rushed him.

He was a lazy fat shite that no one wanted. (article in Yahoo earlier this spring) He. was a high 80's guy but had no strength and couldnt run around the track once without puking. They got him in shape and the fastball spiked.
