He aint getting $50 million. The biggest deal ever for the MLB draft is like $10 million. Boras is not going to get 5 times that amount.
He may very well get 50 million. He also might go straight to the Nats 25 man roster when he signs

Haha. I could see him playing a couple games at most in the bigs after a little time spent down in minors.

In related news,Nats drafted Coleman last year, but they were too cheap, but it worked out well for LSU, so I can't complain.

Prior got like 10 Mil

Price got 6 years 8 million

doubt he gets 50$, though the Nats may be that desperate for a face of their franchise .

he didn't throw hard til he got to sdsu and got in shape. That's one thing scouts like about him, fresh arm. Baseball America ran a blog saying he'll get 20ish with easy to reach incentives

$50M is an absurd number... but some people like this guy think it'll be in the $15-20M range.

yea I was thinking 20-25 mil, but I wouldnt at all be surprised if Boras tells him not to sign and he ends up pitching Independant ball like Crowe did

if the Nationals draft him but fail to sign him, the Astros should commence tanking immediately.

That is possible, but it sure seems dangerous for a guy who is supposedly so close to the major leagues. He'd just be delaying his free agency another year.

If I was a pitcher who was drafted I sure as hell wouldn't decline and pitch independently like Crowe did.

All it takes is one TJ injury and you're not going to be drafted or paid half of what you were if you would've signed.

Strasburg should sign, even if it isn't close to waht he was asking. Just sign shorter term contracts so you can get a bigger contract next go roudnd.

Hey you were dead on about Caron Butler not being able to play really good defense. He has proven to be an average, if that, defender at the SF position. It's about 2 years too late but I've seen the errors in ways since that season.

yeah this is a stupid fricking thought

why would anyone want to do that? independent teams arent going to come close to paying you what you think you are worth, and if you get over yourself and your agents ego and dominate like you are supposed to, you will be getting paid with 3-4 years anyways

Strasburg could pitch one more year in college if he chooses not to sign, I think?
