He is far and away the best and most important player in franchise history. He helped rebuild the city in a time it needed major assistance. He’s funneled millions into the city, for the right causes.

If he stayed as a starter too long, it’s because the organization (GM and HC) didn’t have the balls to move on. Pats moved on from Brady. 49ers moved on from Montana. Colts and Manning went different ways. This one is on the Saints FO.

So many fans on the Saints board legit hate Drew because of an incident this off-season. You can argue he had no choice. Some say he should have retired at that point. I’ll argue against, but whatever...

Point is, does any other city have as large a portion of fans hate their best ever player?

Unless there was a literal gun to his head (there wasn’t) no you can’t make this argument.

You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.

I’m as happy as anyone to see the Saints run ending

But Brees exhibited moral cowardice - for what?

Uhhh, more like Brady refused to resign there and chose to become a FA. Pats didn’t have a choice but to move on.

The real trash in the locker room would have revolted. It’s been their MO this whole movement. Agree with me or I will make your life a living hell. Drew caved to play for one more year. It’s easy for anybody to judge when they’re removed from the situation.

He brought this on himself. He spit in the face of half or more of his fan base because some teammates acted utterly pathetic.

Then, instead of just not doing any more damage, he goes full moron and pushes the other extreme.

He was a great player up until before this season, but he showed his true colors to many. This isn’t about the initial apology either. It’s more what happened after that lost him a bunch of support.

Tbh I don't give a shite what Saints talk says, hence why I hardly go on there even as a Saints fan. Drew will always be my quarterback, and I'm happy I got to watch him play out his career in NO.

Y’all are insane

Saints fans on this board are 100x more level headed than average Saints fan

It’s one of the most batshit fan bases in any sport

I was unaware the goal of the game was to pad stats in meaningless games

He has not been the best QB for a single season in his career

That is not "generational"
