CBJ doesn’t scare me. No pressure on the Caps this year in the first round and I expect them to roll. This season doesn’t start until we get to the second round IMO. Maybe this year we will finally get past the Pens. I doubt it though.

I think Toronto or Tampa come out of the East and Winnipeg or LA out of the West.

Flyers main weakness is goaltending. That's a bad weakness to have in any playoff series but it is an especially bad one to have in a playoff series against the Penguins, particularly if you take a lot of penalties.

Penguins will go as far as Murray can play without getting a concussion or some other injury. That seemed to be about two weeks this season. Or until they run into whoever wins when Boston and Tampa Bay play each other, whichever comes first. The exception will be if they end up playing Washington in the second round. They are so far into the Capitals head in the playoffs they could win a series against them with me starting as their goalie.

LA was the one team that I was hoping VGK could avoid in the first round. Then again, if you're gonna be contenders, you gotta beat who they put in front of ya.

Given the expectations going into season, it's still great just to be here. To use the popular local expression, VGK are playing with house $$$ right now.

It's been funny listening to the sports book guys on local radio. They have to publicly support the team but you can tell that they're shitting bricks about VGK making a long post season run, with all of the preseason bet tickets that people have out there.

This is very true. Fortunately this year they have drawn more penalties than taken for the first time in forever. Hopefully that's the neutralizer but Murray is much better than what the flyers will put between the pipes.

Am I wrong in thinking Hellebuyck will crack? 44 wins is an American record but do you really trust him?

I don't trust Hellyebuck or Winnipeg as a whole in the playoffs.

The Pens scored 5 goals in every game vs the Flyers this year (swept season series). I would be surprised if it goes more than 5 games.

Brassard was a full go in practice yesterday, so it looks like he'll return for game 1.

Caps going with Grubs game 1! Can’t believe Trotz had the balls to go with him but he’s definitely earned it. I’m pumped for Grubs.

I picked TBL in the bracket challenge but im not entirely sold on it.

a few months ago I proclaimed that I don't think anyone can beat Pitt in 7 games and they would three-peat. not sure I still believe that however.

I have a sinking feeling the DUCKS will make a run. I predict another ducks/Nash WCF epic

If it's Boston I think Pens win ECF, if Tampa I'm taking them. Tampa is a bad matchup and have what it takes to defeat the Pens. I think they're the only team in the East that can.

But I'd still take Preds over Pens if it's a rematch.
