People actually believe that the NCAA Death Sentence is on the table for one of the biggest, most profitable, and highest revenue generating franchises in the MLB? I can see draft picks maybe. Depending on the severity of the damage done to the Astros. Otherwise, I would imagine that the MLB would just leave the bulk of the punishment to the Feds and fine the frick out of the Cardinals.

This is like the day of days for Cardinals hating. They are lost in their euphoria and are unable to have logical thoughts.

It was a/ or a few bitter Luhnow haters, who found the magical password, and tried to shite on Luhnow.

How fricking stupid is Luhnow to use the same password he used with Cardinals

Wouldn't it take a crime to even get to the point where they could "guess" the password?

Yeah, I think it depends on what is found. I hope it doesn't happen, but I can see some major sanctions. I just don't think they're going to kill the franchise. To even imagine that there won't be a Cardinals organization in St. Louis is about the silliest comment I've ever read on here.

They used a password that Luhnow had used with Cardinals. And report is that the pass was Cardinals.

NO one broke a code, hacked a code. they used a pass word on a list that he and other cardinal org people used.

These bitter Luhnow haters are fricked, they wont get a slap on the wrist for this. With the hacking going on in the country, these guys will be made an example of.

Aside from the Giants really, no other team has had the success of the Cardinals since 2000. Basically, they've had turnover and major injuries and trades, from their franchise icon to their hall of fame coach to their front office, and yet they're still constantly winning and in the playoffs, often contending for a championship. Maybe they haven't won the whole thing, but they certainly are massively successful.

I would argue the Red Sox and Yankees both have been more successful since 2000, granted doing it with a significant financial advantage. I'm not saying they haven't been successful, they just don't stand out as being the winning machine some are saying, albeit they've been very consistent

if we call it unauthorized access will that suit you better? Or illegal breach?

Hacking may not be the best word for it, but regardless, if they went into the account without authorization, it's illegal.

hacking as defined by the dictionary
quote:

a person who secretly gets access to a computer system in order to get information, cause damage, etc.

so yes "hacking" would be the correct word to use, these people obtained information to get information, cause damage, etc. They did it in secret even if he did use the same password it is illegal.

So in other words, your spin would be incorrect. You may not see it as "hacking" because it is not sensationalized like on TV but it is hacking.

Disagree, especially recent history. Boston has had some awful teams recently and so have the Yankees in recent years. STL is consistently good year after year.

Am I missing something or wouldn't they have had to hack something, even by their definition, to use the password? I'm assuming they just didn't type "Astros secret information" in a search engine and start going down the list of passwords.

I don't have the time to go through the records of each team, but the Yankees are, and have been, in the dumpster now and the BoSox have had a couple ups and downs. I don't know how many NL Central titles the Cardinals have won since 2000, but it's a lot. They've also won a lot of Pennants. And a few World Series. Despite the turnover from a Hall of Fame manager (which the Yankees didn't survive).

they would have need access to their files, either by computers or going through other avenues.
