Where does this idea that they're the Yankees of the 90s come from? They've won exactly two championships in the last 30 years(once as a wild card and another where they won like 84 games), the same number of titles as other powerhouses like the Marlins and Blue Jays in that span. Historically there's no denying their success. But this "all we do is win" shite....come the frick on

Aside from the Giants really, no other team has had the success of the Cardinals since 2000. Basically, they've had turnover and major injuries and trades, from their franchise icon to their hall of fame coach to their front office, and yet they're still constantly winning and in the playoffs, often contending for a championship. Maybe they haven't won the whole thing, but they certainly are massively successful.

f it's proven that what they did was egregious and gave the team a clear competitive edge

that doesn't matter at all. its clearly a crime regardless of any kind of edge it may have given the cards. keep your head in the sand.

I agree. I have no room for it if it was an organizational mandate. Tough love and all that. Thats why we need details.

Where are you people getting this. It's like you waited for this day your entire life and you're not sure how to act.

I'm saying if they are actually guilty about something, they deserve a just punishment. What am I in denial about?

Guys calm down, my post was a joke

Whatever we did, if we did it then punish us appropriately

Some of the punishments posted in this thread such as playing right games on the road, not being able to play in the postseason, etc are laughable and will never happen

It gave the Cardinals no advantage

It was a/ or a few bitter Luhnow haters, who found the magical password, and tried to shite on Luhnow.

How fricking stupid is Luhnow to use the same password he used with Cardinals. Guy who broke story for Times, said there is rumors from their source that the password might of been Upper case C lowercase ardinals. pass=Cardinals lol

I haven't gotten to read this thread yet but....

Media and others destroy Astros for rebuild of franchise. Franchise pleads patience, and we now see the plan beginning to come to fruition.

Media and others trash astros for not signing an injured pitcher to max deal. Pitcher tears UCL.

I have always laughed at the "fans" of the Astros who couldn't see what Luhnow and the rest of the front office was doing. That, and in 2013 the Astros were the most profitable team in baseball, which is laughable.

IF the GM and Owner-level execs knew (and this is again a huge if) that level of punishment is completely in play.

While all the other teams are investing in Caribbean scouting and schools, the Cards have had their IT training center in Kazakhstan really pay off.

Let's get this straight:

People actually believe that the NCAA Death Sentence is on the table for one of the biggest, most profitable, and highest revenue generating franchises in the MLB? I can see draft picks maybe. Depending on the severity of the damage done to the Astros. Otherwise, I would imagine that the MLB would just leave the bulk of the punishment to the Feds and fine the frick out of the Cardinals.

Actually I could see a large fine coming to STL with the loss of several draft picks over the next couple of years. Maybe even limit their international budget
