PGA is the way to go. Screw all these (-110) bets.

Throw .25 units on four golfers and hit a (16/1-50/1) player and you're set for the month. Also hedging is you friend on Sundays.

(Bet Patrick Reed every tournament he plays and you're guaranteed to be up at the end of the year)

I emotional hedged Michigan State last week and $2,400 helped ease the pain.

Uof M buddy of mine did the same thing with $200 and then felt like it was dirty money, so he made a bunch of bets with his winnings to get it out of his account.

It takes a while to learn the ins and outs, if you want to actually be profitable at it. First year, I lost big. Second year, I just about broke even. Now, in my third year, I'm up quite a good bit.

College football, NFL and UFC has been very profitable for me this year. NBA, not so much.

But if you know what you're doing and not making the mistakes most casual bettors make, you can turn a nice profit while watching sports you already enjoy.

That jar would owe me this year.

I keep track. I'm winning at a 56% clip. By Vegas standards thats good. But I don't go balls to the wall...keep it small, between $20-50. Nothing that will kill me. When I pull my winnings it's a bar tab paid for. That plus the fun of the risk is enough for me.

Well, what percentage of guys win in dating for the long term? They still do it anyways.

Jeez, are all your decisions motivated by profits/losses? Guys gamble for fun. They make a little money, it’s exiting. No one is trying to pay their monthly mortgages.

UFC

There was a great thread on the Underground years ago about always putting money on the fighter with fewer tattoos and the win rate was massive.

If you gamble with money you expect to lose it makes games so much more entertaining

If you suck at it, you'll lose a lot. If you're good at it, you'll still lose, but not as much. If you're great at it, you might turn a profit. In that case, it becomes a highly stressful job, and if you're consistently profitable they'll change the rules or ban you outright.

At least with poker and horses, you have only the other players to beat. Not the house too (apart from the rake).

What are you talking about, as a fun hobby or as a job?

There are a handful of people on the face of this earth that can bet sports as the primary source of their income and maintain a comfortable living.

Most that attempt it either aren't disciplined enough, don't have the proper data to make optimal decisions, aren't bankrolled high enough to handle the variance or a combination of these.

I do it for fun now and then. I haven't been to Vegas in a while but it was fun as hell putting $500 on a 4-leg CFB parlay and following all of the games at once.

This was me for about 20 years. I’d bet 10-30 on games, probably 4-6 a weekend. Never lost big, never won big, but had solid entertainment all weekend long.

fun, exciting and challenging. great side gig. will it replace my real estate ventures, lending , stock trading? absolutely not. but it can be very profitable if you do your homework.

you need a scientific approach when using systems like i do. I use many of tony stoffo's systems and i make my own hybrid systems using his ideas and mine combined.

you have to learn to remove all emotions from this and treat it as a business. plain and simple.

sports betting is the one where you can win consistently. any casino games you will lose eventually and you will not beat the house advantage over time.

I used to think I hated players who fricked up a big game. Let them cost you money and see how you feel.
