Which will be bad for everyone, but if you want to be an emotional pussy about it, do that

I literally couldn't care less about LIV, I think the product is ok. I think there's 10 weeks a year that the Tour product is good, but I've stopped watching for the most part other than that. I would love for PGA Tour golf to be good, but it's not, so I don't watch.

lsupride87.... this is a pivotal point in all of your ranting about LIV vs PGA. It's not one or the other, at least for me. For you, it's PGA tour is the standard & LIV should not exist.

The pendulum I want to see swing one way is that all professional golfers get paid more. That's what is happening now for the players that left for LIV & for the players who stayed at PGA. Your defense for PGA is sad bc you have no reason for it other than "LIV lowers the competition of golf that I like to watch on the weekend".

I think that's actually a perfectly reasonable take if he'd stop there. All the bullshite and lies and lunacy is where he fricks up.

"I like the product and I wish it wouldn't change" is fine. People can disagree with that, but it's not absurd

Your support for LIV is players that you have zero relationship with at all get paid more. Why the frick do you care about that?

Seems strange you question my reasoning of the actual product I consume, when your reasoning is something that isn’t tangible or related to you at all

They already know the tour is going to welcome them with open arms. The tour is just as, if not more greedy, than the players who left. If someone wants to play on the tour that will bring eyes, they will let them play

I honestly couldn't give a shite either way. The only reason everyone gravitated to the tour so long ago is because it paid more money. Guess what's happening now?

Why would you not want to see anyone be more successful/make more $? You have to have a personal relationship with someone to want them to make more $? I would like to see Joe Burrow sign a $60M/yr contract, but I've never met him?

Also - because that's what they deserve. Why should the PGA make more $, but not the players?

Would you want Joe burrow to go sign a huge deal to go play in nfl Europe or the XFL? That would make you happy as a fan/consumer?

You can’t claim to be neutral at all if you can’t have the intellectual honesty to admit players who stick with the Tour would have every right to both expect recourse for players who left , and be angry if they were allowed back penalty free

I gave you this solution yesterday. Q school and a year on korn ferry (unless they win 3 quickly). Potential embarrassment if they don’t get through q school. A year in exile on KF making 20 grand for a top 10. Tour players make more money (at least the top 50) LIV guys have to pay their penance. Everyone should be happy. That is if LIV folds.

If he could still compete for Super Bowls (i.e. "Majors"), sure. If that means the next great young QB in the NFL can get a $75M/yr contract, sure.

Ok bud. I’m sure all these “golf fans” would also love it if about 14 nfl players left for huge money to go play an 8 game schedule in another league and the game was 3 periods

Totally would have the same reaction

You by far are the most level headed person here for LIV. I disagree with you, but you at least come at this fairly

This comparison is so stupid it's not even worth engaging

You mean you don’t want to get into the hypothetical of the Saudis starting a rival football league with unlimited funds because you know the boards opinion would radically shift

You said 14 NFL players like that was in anyway comparable to 14 golfers.

Dude, you took my 1 example of "wanting to see someone you have no relationship with make more money" & are ignoring the principal of it. This is what you do by the way. Someone makes a solid point & then you find something else to argue with. I think you seriously have some kind of issue where you can't accept being wrong or have to prove everyone that you're right?

It’s a simple question Mingo

Do you think this board would feel the same way if the Saudis started a rival football league and started offering nfl players huge contracts to go?

I won’t wait for an answer because I know you won’t give one

Because it's the answer. The players are leaving, a problem you seem more than concerned with for all these many pages of reply.

Jay Monahan was trying to get these golf players on the cheap, even after LIV began to harvest. This is exactly how he got behind the learning curve so quickly. He is a cooperate skinflint and historically speaking the old "Barron Robbers" have nothing on this guy.

It's not simple at all because the sports are completely different.

In fact, the comparison is stupid as frick

I get where you’re coming from. I just think it plays out differently. I don’t think the pga tour is going anywhere. If it does I will eat crow. I just don’t see it happening. Too many great players out there.
