Took a gander at a Texas tech board, boy have they been smoking up the copium

One guy made a big ole post where he pontificated if the judge ruled Sorsby can play bc he was a fan of TCU and knew it would lead to this

Another person chimed in that the courts had no choice because ones Sorsby went into rehab he was now in a protected class and could sue the judge for harming a “disabled” person.

I was dying reading that

Now NFL teams will be worried he’s a gambling addict because of how hard TTU doubled down on that bullshite recovery story.

Should’ve just said “my bad, I’ll stop” and gone pro earlier.

He’s a documented gambling addict who has bet on his own team. More talented guys have had their stock plummet for less.

Very likely a bullshite PR move and he was just a college kid placing a shitload of small bets and he fricked up betting on a prop for his own teammate.

A 23 year old works for me and he and his buddies all have all the apps and live prop bet random sports together all the time. It’s all the rage with these kids now. They’ll place a hundred small bets in a weekend and basically come out even or slightly down.

His whippy throwing motion helps create plenty of velocity. But because of those standout traits, he tries to fit passes into nonexistent lanes. His confidence in his arm can result in avoidable throws that result in head-scratching turnovers.

The above quote from an ESPN article about Sorsby and where he might go in the supplemental draft made me laugh. They aren't head scratching if you know he bet on CFB games. LINK

Didn’t he place thousands and thousands of bets. Like over a hundred a day?

That sounds like a serious problem.

It’s unfortunately really common with college kids. He placed a ton of low dollar bets. Lots of props and live bets. The guy who works for me joked just last week about him and his buddies placing dozens of live bets each while watching a single WNBA game. Said it was hilarious and fun, but just anecdotal evidence of what these kids do.

He made almost 10,000 bets in a 3 year period and at least 40 were involving Indiana

From what I read it was 2900 bets, over a 4 year span. So roughly on average 2 bets per day. I think some of the numbers were exaggerated because many of the bets were parlays.

I have no idea what constitutes a gambling addiction, but I don’t think placing an average of 2 $30 bets per day is what I would consider an addiction.

This is an exaggerated number.

And no one is saying that what he did was right, but the addiction angle was just a PR move.

The 2900 bets number is from JUST his time at Indiana, not his whole college career.

Oh for sure, but he might actually be an addict

That is not what I’ve read.

What I read is it was 2900 total bets over 4 years, but some of the bets were parlays, so some reporting was counting a 3 leg parlay as 3 bets, for example.

Gambling in a manner that is assured to severely impact your life probably does it.

Just texted and asked another buddy how many bets he made this past weekend and it was 206. And he doesn’t have a gambling addiction. These apps are like video games with the live bets and props, and boosted return promos, etc. It’s like playing casino games in a casino and leaving and counting how many times you put chips down as a bet.
