Twitter video of flop

I know I’m late on this one but can anyone explain to me how or why this was called a foul on Derozan?
There are two options in my eyes:
1) No call, the shot was obstructed by Harden but he was set when it happened (or maybe just his beard was touched and he flopped)
2) Foul on Harden for his body (doesnt have to be hands) hitting Derozan on his way up or the new rule of obstructing someone’s offensive cylinder

Just confused why Harden gets rewarded for this

Simple answer - The ref was watching something else and got fooled by Harden's flop.

Disgusting. Hardenly an offensive foul. He had his hands on hips and face in his grill did not give the room to take the shot without contact, which was Hardenly noticeable. Really hard to root for this guy.

It was a chicken shite call that could very well have impacted the outcome.

But I’m not surprised Harden was the beneficiary of this. The flop was pathetic, reiterating why James is a bitch.

What happened to getting fined for flopping? Does the NBA not do that anymore?

Alvin with some kind words:

Alvin Gentry on James Harden: "I think he’s the best offensive player out there and I can’t think of one, really, over the course of their career that’s been better than he’s been from the standpoint of being able to put up the kind of numbers he’s done and do it efficiently.”

Wasn't a foul. Was Harden being a bitch, per usual. Huge call, too. Erased a basket that would have given SA breathing room down the stretch.

No matter. We'll punk 'em again in the postseason if that shite is the best they've got.

B, you know I respect Hardwn's game, but Alvin Gentry ain't the guy whose opinion you want to share.

What about coach Igor:

It’s an open debate, you know, if you go to the sports bar & you talk about who’s the best offensive player to ever play the game. You can easily go with Harden.” - Suns coach Igor Kokosko

At this point it is bordering on you name the coach, I will find a quote where he says he harden is either GOAT or right there in the discussion. Which is what really matters anyway.

It's easy to explain. Harden grows his beard out as long as he does so when he whips his head back it looks far more dramatic and makes it harder for a ref to swallow his whistle. He also benefits from players who barely graze it as their muscle memory does not account for dudes who have a six inch extension to their face.

This is exactly what I don't understand about how Hardwn is officiated.

He gets the benefit of the doubt BOTH WAYS. And it seems like refs are legitimately guessing, BOTH WAYS.

By that I mean dudes will legitimately move to get out of his way on shots and make zero contact and the refs blow the whistle on them because of how Hardwn reacts. When he's playing defense he's banging on guys(which is just normal and good defense imo) with no calls and guys are getting offensive fouls for normal freakin jump shots.

He has figured out that he can really get into guys in the post on defense while also being able to draw ridiculously cheap fouls when he enters the paint on offense. I hate it.

Wait wait wait am I seeing this right?

The angle you saw is inconclusive it looks like contact. And you saying the ref was guessing. How do you know what the ref saw. Give me the view from his angle.

And let me guess if derozan elbowed you in the chin you would take it with a smile wouldn’t ya. Your head wouldn’t go back or nothing.

DeRozan did not fall into Harden. He has a right to get his shot off in the confines of his space. Then again, you know the rule, because you regurgitate the same shite when Harden is on offense.

he did hit him in the chin. the spurs couldnt close out. the worse foul happened a few minutes after that when forbes "fouled" harden for 3 shots. from then on it was over

the spurs however still have a great chance to get a favorable seed and win a playoff series despite boom claiming the would never do so again.

From the rule book:

Personal Foul

When a player attempts to execute a legitimate offensive or defensive move and an extended elbow makes more than marginal contact with a legally established opponent, a personal foul will be assessed.

The beard definitely moves in the video. But I'm thinkin' this should have been a foul on Hardwn.
