A head butt would be the defensive player initiating contact. derozan is the one who hit hardwn. the nba really has player safety in mind when it comes to elbows and contact with the head. They will assess the foul on the one who is elbowing people if the other player is in a legal guarding position. Which hardwn was.

Legal guarding position
Leaning on someone with both hands on their torso? When did that become legal?

Initiating contact
What about when a player has their hand near Harden covering the ball, and Harden initiates a swipe through causing contact, offensive foul right?

Read the rule book bro. There is no rule saying you can’t have two hands on a player. In fact it says that you can.
For the second part you are missing a key component. ELBOW Contact. And a defender is not in a legal defending position if their arm is in hardwns way when he takes his shot.

Probably got lessons from the GOAT flop.

Elbow to the head is not end all be all, context still matters. Rebounding and swinging elbows to hit someone is much much different than somehow jumping backwards on a fadeaway jump shot with normal arm position and elbow accidentally, maybe hitting someone in “legal position.”
And again, leaning on someone with 2 hands on the torso may not be a foul, but it is certainly not a set position, meaning Harden should be called for a block in that regard anyway

Maybe To you elbow to the head is not end all be all.
Everytime I see a elbow to the head I see a foul called And I watch a lot of hoop.
