mid tier qb’s making obscene amounts of cash.

Why does that upset you?

NIL is good for the players that are getting paid. I don’t like the constant transfers either but being mad because mid tier QBs are making money is kind of pathetic.

The race baiters and do-gooders will try to tell you it's capitalism when it is nothing resembling capitalism. There is no market for athletes out of high school in these sports. None. In fact, they were overpaid with tuition/R&B/stipend.

I refuse to believe this is a real argument. There’s no way anyone can be this stupid

Reading that Louisville is losing its top two RB’s to the portal. No problem I guess, we’ll go out and buy some athlete from Coastal Carolina or another mid. The fans will get behind said kid then he’ll upgrade to another power school.

sounds like you're frustrated with the transfer rules, not NIL

NIL doesn't mean much to me. The unlimited and unrestricted transfers, conference realignment, and expanded playoffs are what I don't like

NIL in concept is not bad for the game, the problem is there are zero boundaries and the current state is not sustainable. These college players have more control than any professional player or any other player in any league. There has to be some sort of contract or true commitment and not this leave after year.

God forbid the 18 year old kids that are generating billions of dollars get a tiny slice of the pie. God forbid a player be free to transfer to another school just like the entire coaching staff that is making millions off of these kids. Yeah, NIL is a real travesty But hey, coaches getting $50 million buyouts because they sucked is totally cool

These cucked responses are laughable. As if people don’t leave jobs on a whim in the real world every single day.

NIL shouldn’t be schools lining up endorsement deals as a recruiting tactic. Fine with kids making money off their name but they need to secure these deals independently.

The unlimited transfers is the real problem. They should get one mulligan but a 2nd+ transfer should result in a mandatory year of sitting out like it used to be.

Yeah, I think 90% of complaints about the state of college football are with the transfer portal than the NIL.

Talk about bankrupt arguments

If you removed the student-athletes, there would be exactly zero revenue.

College football, basketball, and baseball (to a lesser degree) are the only systems in the entire world where people make the argument that people who drive the revenue should be legally prohibited to contract for their services.

If your 18 year old kid was a world class violinist, I seriously doubt you would say that the New York Symphony should be entities to his talent in exchange for just room and board.

Why does any of this matter? If the coaches are getting paid to coach why shouldn't the played be compensated to play?

I meant product in the sense of the quality of football being played.

Yes, it’s still increasing revenue.

A player transferring for more playing time is trying to advance his career

NIL is awesome because now EVERY team can buy players. You are losing the RB’s because your team decided they weren’t worth what someone else offered. But your team could have.

This system is way better than 15 schools buying every 5star under the table.

And the portal is awesome too. These players aren’t hostages.

You are grade A, certifably retarded if you don't think every team besides Army, Navy, and Air Force was paying players before this shite.

They were never hostages before. They were free to quit the team at any point they wanted to.

NIL is good for the players…. College football is a billion business that has used free labor to make its money. Now the money has to be shared.

I think NIL is great for basketball and baseball because players who develop late have a chance to make money and go to bigger schools.

Players should be considered employees therefore fall under FLSA, when they sign, they sign 2 year “deals”.
