Neither. Wilson's too short and Moore doesn't have the physical tools to be successful in the NFL.

Wilson will almost assuredly be a career backup

Let's just say the Carrol anti-LSU bias has great merit and that a certain QB was never given a chance

if they are smart they will let wilson learn under the guy who learned under the best for a couple years

Pete Carrol has already screwed Matt Flynn. The quarterback is the leader of the franchise. Flynn was paid $27 million to come in and be that guy. But from day 1 Pete Carrol has not given the team over to Flynn. Flynn can't be expected to lead the team when the head coach keeps dangling his job over to a rookie that played one good half of exhibition football against people trying to make a team. (I argued a little different for Jarrett Lee because he is just trying to make the team, not be a starter) Matt Flynn's first exhibition game he played pretty darn well. I think he completed his first 7 passes. The starters only played about 3 series and that was it. If Terrell Owens doesn't drop a touchdown pass in his belly in game 2, Flynn's numbers from that game aren't so bad.

I hope Russell Wilson breaks his leg and when Pete Carrol turns to Flynn, Matt just says, "Nah, I've got my $27 million, put in Tavaris Jackson."

(I know that all of Flynn's money isn't guaranteed, but the point is he's getting screwed badly here)

I don't think Wilson will last. His stature & his inability to show he's a pocket-passer that can consitsently get the job done will pale in comparison to Flynn's quiet confidence and wonkish knowledge of the playbook with the physical ability to translate that knowledge into the right decisions on the field.

Petey can have Seneca Wallace 2.0 all they want. Their future is with Flynn

The point is if anyone honestly thinks Wilson will be the starter, they don't watch much NFL football.
If Pete starts Wilson based on how well wilson does in the third preseason game, then Pete won't be at Seattle for very long.

Watching him plan in college he actually reminded me a lot of Terrell Pryor, and I think he's an average at best QB at the next level. Don't doubt that Pete Carrol's butt is on the line if he starts Wilson. The front office went out and payed Matt Flynn money to be the starting quarterback. The team then drafted Wilson to in the 3rd round, not the 1st, with hopes that he could one day become the starter. That one day was not meant to be Game 1 of the first season. If Pete Carrol wants to waste the front office's money and put Matt Flynn on the bench, then Russell Wilson better bet have a season similar to Andy Dalton from last year or else Mr. Rah Rah Coach will be sent back to college.
From what I've been hearing on the radio, Pete Carroll is seriously considering starting Russell Wilson in the first regular season game. I hope it gets Petey fired.

Carroll is involved in personnel decisions in Seattle, and his front office just laid down $25 million for a new QB and he's going to bench that QB before they play an actual game? That is an unconscionably stupid way to run a franchise.

Carrol just paid $25 Million or Matt Flynn. He just drafted Russel Wilson and has been absolutely surprised with the excellent production he's gotten from this draft pick. His only option is to do what he's been doing, talk up Wilson like he's the second coming and increase his TRADE VALUE. Quit freaking out about the posibility of Matt Flynn getting paid 25 million bucks to sit the bench because he isn't going to.
I guess my point is that I'm surprised at how blindly ignorant some on this board are acting about this. My opinion is that Carrol is trying to increase Wilson's trade value and not planning on starting him, but if Wilson is the better QB I don't see why he shouldn't start. With that said, in this thread I've heard that Pete Carrol is in jeopardy of losing his job if he starts a rookie over a career back-up who they just paid 25 million for. Some on this board think that Pete will get fired for essentially "striking oil" in the draft and finding a rookie good enough to beat out Matt Flynn?

Really sort of a back stabbing action on Pete Carroll, but did we really expect any different. What a colossal joke - the talk about Wilson started almost immediately.

Sadly some of the good threads have been deleted as I can't even find them on Google anymore....

So what you're saying with this thread is, if someone were to take time out of their life to search through your post history, they wouldnt find anything completely wrong?

I wish the threads with the Gamecock poster were still available. Those were the best with people saying Pete was throwing the season to draft Barkley

Regardless of the outcome, it doesn't mean it wasn't a strange and risky move.

Carroll made a ballsy decision that took true vision and leadership to make before it was made.

And it paid off.

I'm sure the Seahawks staff didn't see the move as risky. They saw this dude in practice and said . "he gives us a better chance to win."
