career low in FG% (41.1)
3rd lowest FT% (80.1)
T-2nd worst ORTG (109)
not even remotely close to his defensive capabilities

Even in the playoffs the numbers are there, but his efficiency were pretty much career lows for him. More turnovers being one of the major reasons why people say "jordan wasn't jordan"

He was great compared to other players.

He wasn't remotely as good as he was in the previous seasons or seasons after that one, obviously.

Sure, but look at what you're asking. 5 more seasons of efficiency and shooting like we've never seen before is a tall task.

One thing is for certain, if Steph puts up a few more elite seasons, people are going to start forgetting about the NBA titles stipulation they use against LeBron. No one is going to hold Steph to 6+ titles or he can't be the GOAT like they do to LeBron. That is a fact.

His ankle issues were overblown. He maybe missed 20 or so games over 2 years. He just happen to roll them, come back and quickly roll them again.

He's gotten better with his body, but they were never like Grant Hill's ankle problems, Nash's back problems.

The reason "Jordan wasn't jordan" when he returned was that they didn't have a 4 to compliment him and Pippen. The year after Jordan left the bulls record was only two games worse off. Take out Horace Grant the following year and they started sucking. Add Jordan back and still scrub out to Orlando in the playoffs. Then add Rodman back in and you have one of the greatest rosters ever assembled.

So...Horace Grant was more valuable than MJ?

You don't think 18 or so months off had something to do with coming back rusty?

That has to be the most ridiculous jump of all time. Not only because he went from 16 home runs in 1995 to 50 in 1996, but then he followed that up in 1997 with....18, and only hit 20 once more after that. Insane

Last year, Lebron was the GOAT.

If AD can stay healthy and move to a better franchise, then he'll be the GOAT in a couple years. Or maybe KAT.

Side note Toni K would be (more) awesome in today's NBA.

Early last year, people were debating who was the better three point shooter, curry or Kyle Korver... 18 months later he's the clear best player in the league.

Thanks for saying it. I think the same thing every time a GOAT thread pops up. Poor Lebron...he only got to be the GOAT for about 4 seasons

At least MJ got 15 years or so to be the GOAT

Seriously, the turnover in GOATS does speak to the talent infusion in the NBA in this generation....and that's the most times I have ever used the word GOAT.

And he did all that, while taking almost 2 years away from the game during his absolute prime.
Can you just imagine what 8 straight titles would have done for Mike's legacy ? Not to mention 2 more seasons of points rebounds assists steals, posterizing dunks.
To me that's an aspect that gets neglected when people compare players like Kobe, LeBron and Curry to MJ.

difference is those are all based off potential, Stephs is based off how he is currently playing
