I think he is testing the waters to take the Caleb approach, and be one of the first premier non-QBs to do it.

You saw my tape, you know how good I am, I don't need to do all that stupid stuff.

And it will likely work out for him, he will still get drafted high.

And then we are going to see it more and more for hyped players

I don’t hate it. I’ve always found the underwear Olympics kinda odd for top guys. Do the medicals and say “I’m a football player, see my tape, not me running around for your entertainment. If you want to draft me, draft me. If not, don’t. I don’t really have a choice in who picks me or not.”

Everything is a factor, another datapoint.

There have been quite a few players that were excellent, excellent college football players that did terrible in the combine, and then they sucked because they were just not good enough athletes (and many workout warriors that sucked).

Just have to take all of the data.

I think you have to figure out first if they can play football, and if they can, are they a good enough athlete (and I know that is just derrrr basic stuff)

Hmmmm, we’ll see. His play doesn’t wow me. If he were at Cincinnati and not OSU the hype wouldn’t be there for this guy.
Please go and watch the 2023 semi-final game in which he DOMINATED Georgia, a team full of pros, and then get back to me on whether you think his tape is good enough. You people…

I’ll preface you’d by saying I do think MHJ is an elite prospect, just not sure if he’s so far ahead of the pack as he’s been described

For this specific point, I would point out to you that MHJ was not the leading WR for OSU in that game and that in the game prior to that one in the SEC title game, Nabors had similar production (more yards) against that same Georgia defense with a backup QB

He's going to drop but not much. Media hype does not carry over into draft rooms.

, I don't think a lot of teams will appreciate his diva level being this high so early on.

Who cares what a lot of teams think, he only needs one to pick him and 2/3 of them won’t have the chance

What does this even mean? Not running a 40 is being a diva?

Dude has been working out with the team getting NFL ready with our strength team. He doesn't need the money, and would be better off falling in the draft to a better team any way (which he won't).

This board has gone off the rails

Huh? Did you watch him play? Obviously not. The kid is all world. I do agree he should of at least done the interviews.

The NFL combine and draft process will start looking a lot more like the NBA over time for the top guys.

This is all world? In the weak arse Big 10?

67 receptions
1211 yards
14 tds

His 2022 and 23 stats are consistent, yet don’t suggest all world. Like i said… the hype is real. His winning the Biletnikoff over Nabers is laughable.

Grant Delpit winning the Jim Thorpe award in 2019 was laughable.

The awards are essentially assigned in the pre-season, so as much as I hated that Nabers didn't win it, I wasn't shocked and it wasn't exactly a travesty.

He did skip a scheduled press conference at the combine unannounced. He doesn't have an agent. I think the month old story was he wasn't going to train and do any testing cause he trains for football, assuming he was going to run routes at pro day.

This.

Odunze and Nabers could both end up better than him. A few other guys in the draft too, but that is less likely.

Literally no reason to it will not increase his draft stock and the only thing that can happen is he gets hurt.

Agreed. His 2018 won the 2019 award.

MHJ stats in 22 and 23 were very similar, despite having CJ Stroud throwing to him in 22, as Stroud is obviously a great talent after one year in the league.

I think MHJ is a good wide receiver, not great. He could have a decent career on the right team, but I have my doubts if he’s in the next level territory some want him to be in. Time will tell.

It was reported that Harrison's team told the scheduler he would be unable to attend early the same morning due to a body scan.

And it was reported before the combine that he wouldn't do anything on the field or athleticly. This is not new.

He is still with the team during spring workouts based on the latest reports. That may change after the pro day and the graduates typically distance themselves from the program.

Harrison may want him to fall to a better organization, but the talking heads rarely get a top 4 pick wrong. I can't recall a guy projected that high dropping. I don't think Brady Quinn was a top 4 projection.
