Players entering may never exit. Now they're competing with a ton of other homeless portal members as well as the high school guys who are highly rated. NOT a good place to be...

Huh. Players can take their name out of the portal.

Transfer rules + $$$ = free agency

Top dollar guys

- Boutte
- Roy
- Smith * (best get with 2 years left)
- Guillory
- Ricks
- BJ

High dollar guys
- Johnson
- Emery
- Bech
- Thomas maybe
- D. Smith
- Kiner
- McGlothern (maybe)

The transfer portal is a two-way street. It will end up benefitting LSU more than hurting by the time this process is done.

New coach will be able to fill a bunch of voids with transfers.

For a top program like LSU, the portal is a net positive (or should be with a good coach)

transfer portal is great. Athletes aren't trapped anymore. And they are catering the rules more to help teams out that lose players. It's a win win

Check the stats. Most of the players in the portal are not elite players. And most of them will be left on the sidelines unless they transfer to a smaller school.

True. but the problem with the new rules is that you can't get the additional transfer in unless the guy transferring out wait until Dec 15th to enter the portal. Koy Moore just entered, so we don't get a transfer in to replace him.

You're in a new world now though, $$$ + transfer rules will change things with coaching changes.

Tennessee lost plenty of good players, plus many of the lower players.

The star players can go where they want to win or get $$$, the lower players will be hit and miss with the portal.

You clearly aren't an LSU fan. Just a Coach O supporter.

Meanwhile teams like Alabama will get to sign 32 players and fill any voids they have in the 3 deep.

Well, I would say I am just pointing out the obvious at this point.

The new transfer rules plus $$$$ give star players options they didn't have before.... LSU has probably 8-10 guys that can play anywhere, the can get a championship next year.

Tennessee lost almost all their best players, and got jackshit in return. Actually they're doing pretty well considering what they lost.

It's really even a bigger change than NFL free agency several years ago. With free agency, you at least had contracts to contend with. The transfer portal with NIL$ could be a free for all. Will be interesting, but not good for the sport overall.

I started disliking NFL ball when players started jumping from team to team. It was hard to choose between following players or following teams. Now I can't even rely on my favorite college players staying put for 3-4 years.

It already is. Tennessee lost 35 last year, and really all but one of their top players. Morris, Gray, To'o To'o, Crouch, etc.

Tennessee did not get equal transfers in. I actually think they have done well this year considering their roster.

long before the NFL got woke, I still didn't like it because of this. So many players jumping from the team to team - there was little continuity. In the college game, in addition to most players being from local or nearby high schools, they were on the team for 3-4 years, so there was continuity and we could embrace that.

Now yes, I understand that college players were locked in under previous transfer rules, but now with the new transfer rules, and the NIL $$, it seems college ball has lost what made it special. Players will be coming and going a lot more than before.

And yes, I'm looking at it from a fan's perspective.

You sound like an even bigger moron by constantly trying to draw a connection between what happened at Tennessee to LSU.

The situations aren’t similar.

If LSU wins on Saturday he will be even more insufferable than he already is.
