Doing more??? You JUST won your first outright Sunbelt Conference Championship. LSU has 4 National Championships & recently fielded the best team in CFB history. Gtfo with your nonsense

The University of Texas doesn’t exist. I think you’re mistaking Texas football with the University of Texas at Austin.

Louisville?
You must really have a small pecker. Explains the insecurity.

I watched every game, they are dog shite, my dude. Worst LSU team I have ever witnessed.
You better hope they don’t pair LSU with ULL in a bowl game. It would sure be embarrassing if the worst LSU team in the last 20 years beats the best ULL team ever.
That would NEVER happen because LSU would pull out of that game faster than a speeding bullet. They would pull a LaTech and then not go bowling.

The issue is that still in the same class with every other state college not named LSU, they tried a political ploy to become the sole rep for the state as a university. Power brokers in NE Louisiana could see that coming and got Northeastern to share the "Louisiana" name.
But no no no the frauds call themselves Louisiana.
I don't know of anyone who had issues with them as USL, except the one time rivalry with McNeese in sports. FTR, all of my relatives prior to myself and my sister opting for McNeese, went to SLI/USL. Buildings and scholarships have been named after relatives there, so I have never been anti USL or Laffy. Additionally, most of my teachers and all but one of my high school coaches were USL alum. Every last one of those alumni were admirable.
FWIW, the laughing stock of the football world was USL deciding to go "big time" in football after going 0-10 against the likes of McNeese, Northwestern, Northeastern, Southeastern and Lamar. LA Tech had at least a legitimate reason to make the step up in class back then.
I bet you hate your next door neighbor who went on to become a doctor while you still work as a waiter at your local chain restaurant. Sorry that some have a better vision of their life and are not complacent mediocrity. That vision takes hard work, something I guess McNeese was not willing to put in the effort to do.

Bulldogs
Someone was telling me recently when the last one died, ULL held a funeral by the campus priest at Wisdom.
They got him a casket but due to rigor, he would not fit because his legs were stuck out so they sawed his legs off to get him to fit in order to have his funeral.
Personally I think they should rebrand and go retro, everything back to the bulldogs.
Why, everyone can be a bulldog, tiger, cowboy....but there is only ONE Ragin Cajun!!! Be original and stop following the pact. Unless you like that smell and look....always from the rear.

I would estimate that within Lafayette city limits, the Cajuns have 50% support at best. In my neighborhood five miles away from campus, its maybe 25% . In places like Opelousas and Crowley, probably less than 10%. And that's no different than 20-30 years ago.
I live in Abbeville and can't disagree with anything you said there. I'm originally from the northeast and moved here in the 80's. Fell in love with south LA. Never understood why there is so much animosity in this state. I have read the history going back to the Huey p. Long days. And this state really has had its issues, but you would think it could move on from those days. Obviously not. The same mentality that existed then still lives today. Sad.

While I am not excited about the HC hire I will say this..
I believe many people underestimate just how bad the old University President and Athletic Director were for athletics. The former President was a great advocate for academics which is certainly important and ULL is a great school. But they were also not very supportive of athletics. The new President has changed that. Then it was another turning point hiring Maggard as AD I believe.
ULL is the 2nd largest university in LA, is a good school academically, and Lafayette is a good city. No reason why athletic programs like football can't continue to excel and not "fade into irrelevance." Of course, whether ULL can keep up the pace of the last two seasons I don't know. I am not suggesting they will be a national powerhouse. Just pointing out how the old administration really hurt athletics. And that looking back at the prior couple decades aren't necessarily an indication of the future.
Of course I hope :)

What a shitty draw vs. Marshall. Would have liked to see them play BYU.

Nonsense? You have a $160 million budget and yet you’ve been ranked lower than us these past two years. You can be in denial all you want Wal Mart Tigah fan.
Once again, doing more with a fourth of your budget. Let’s see LSU win 4 National titles with a $35-40 million budget.

Of course, I celebrate Lafayette's entrepeneur spirit and how it went from a college/railroad town on par with nearby Jennings. The Oil Center was the center of this new development and would have been built in Lake Charles but the leading families didn't want it there.
The fact is that Hymen (pun intended) went from the high school snitch who drove around town at night looking for pranksters to report to the police, then a property developer that spurred his city to grow and prosper after seeing that nearby Lake Chuck wasn't going to do it. Thus, major and indie oil companies moved from Lake Chuck to Laffy with their regional offices.
Now back to the matter at hand, vision usually means having a basis to be able to achieve. In no shape or form did USL have that basis to go "big time" in football and many in Laffy laughed about it. What the heck the bigtime boosters like JY Foreman, who doled out lots of cash and white powder to get basketball players like Roy Ebron and Bo Lamar with their full length Super Fly mink coats and fully decked out Super Fly Caddies on campus.
FWIW, I hope they succeed and stay relevant. Let's face it there is not enough resources available for that program to succeed at the Power 5 level

That’s interesting. Imagine if more people
supported the school in their backyard instead of riding an already built bandwagon. We could be talking back to back National titles instead of back to back Top 20 ranked seasons.
I get it though, most people are made to follow the herd, it takes guts and perseverance to build something that isn’t already the best.
Congrats to LSU though for having a monopoly on all the casual bandwagon fans in Louisiana going back to Huey P and eliminating any competition. Well done.
In the meantime I will enjoy being the top ranked program in the state. I’m a sucker for a good underdog story, especially in my backyard.

Helluva season for Cajuns, but if I was a fan, I’d be absolutely livid on Bowl location. Aside from the loss to Texas, they went undefeated & the freaking NOLA bowl is what they get?!!? Cajuns would’ve gotten NOLA if they had won 7 games.
So this is the best bowl that they can ever hope for?!? This is a damn travesty.

This is the best shite on Lafayette post I've ever read on here because it's vintage hate. This is amazing.

This poster has obvious decades of hate and animosity built up around Lafayette and the university.
The name dropping too.
