But you know what would be a serious slap in the face would be if Kelly took the Arkansas job and told them to pay him just $1 per month. Then that would mean LSU would have to pay Kelly $799,999 per month to coach another team that could potentially beat them every year.
Now that would be some shite.
Now that would be some shite.

Dude is loyal to southeastern. He won’t leave for any amount of money unfortunately. We’d be lucky to have him though
Isn't that what they said about Yvette Girouard?
Golf is more mentally harder than physically hard. As pointed out, Tiger was a beast both physically and mentally. However, it was later found out that Tiger had a release mechanism before each match that helped him to concentrate on golf better.
I love the game. And I'm just an average player at best. But sometimes I can shoot in the upper 70's for months at a time followed by can't break 100 for months. Can't explain why, except for the mental game.
But if I were to play professionally, I would want to be the 30 to 40 range on the PGA tour. Why might you ask? Because if you are in the 30-40 range on the PGA , you will make roughly 5 million a year, playing 40 -50 of the best courses in the world, but no one will ever know who you are. You would be able to keep your PGA card and play every year and not worry about having to re-qualify for the tour. Yet, you could walk down the street, go to a restaurant, ....without no one knowing you are a PGA professional. Tiger, Scottie, Rory, Xander.....can't even go to a grocery store without being mobbed by fans. But can you name any golfer from the 30-40 range?

Wouldn't be the first time a player has been drafted as a player for another position. I would think it happens probably 10-15% of the draft every year.

Bottom9
Why is Kyren Lacy playing over more talented WRs?
Wasn't Lacy the ONLY highlight in the 2nd half? If if wasn't for him and a pretty good move, the score would have remained at 17. What were the other receivers and running backs doing during the 2nd half....not scoring TD's, that's for sure.

4 runs is not gonna win a lot of games in post season play
You are correct. That is exactly what LaSOoh scored today and lost.

Look at the bright side, the teams the Braves struggle the most with, the last place bottom dwellers, will not make the post season. So the Braves should do quite well again.

Yep and UL just won the Sunbelt championship and got their ticket punched. If LSU hosts, could see them going there.

I would estimate that within Lafayette city limits, the Cajuns have 50% support at best. In my neighborhood five miles away from campus, its maybe 25% . In places like Opelousas and Crowley, probably less than 10%. And that's no different than 20-30 years ago.
I live in Abbeville and can't disagree with anything you said there. I'm originally from the northeast and moved here in the 80's. Fell in love with south LA. Never understood why there is so much animosity in this state. I have read the history going back to the Huey p. Long days. And this state really has had its issues, but you would think it could move on from those days. Obviously not. The same mentality that existed then still lives today. Sad.

Someone was telling me recently when the last one died, ULL held a funeral by the campus priest at Wisdom.
They got him a casket but due to rigor, he would not fit because his legs were stuck out so they sawed his legs off to get him to fit in order to have his funeral.
Personally I think they should rebrand and go retro, everything back to the bulldogs.
Why, everyone can be a bulldog, tiger, cowboy....but there is only ONE Ragin Cajun!!! Be original and stop following the pact. Unless you like that smell and look....always from the rear.

The issue is that still in the same class with every other state college not named LSU, they tried a political ploy to become the sole rep for the state as a university. Power brokers in NE Louisiana could see that coming and got Northeastern to share the "Louisiana" name.
But no no no the frauds call themselves Louisiana.
I don't know of anyone who had issues with them as USL, except the one time rivalry with McNeese in sports. FTR, all of my relatives prior to myself and my sister opting for McNeese, went to SLI/USL. Buildings and scholarships have been named after relatives there, so I have never been anti USL or Laffy. Additionally, most of my teachers and all but one of my high school coaches were USL alum. Every last one of those alumni were admirable.
FWIW, the laughing stock of the football world was USL deciding to go "big time" in football after going 0-10 against the likes of McNeese, Northwestern, Northeastern, Southeastern and Lamar. LA Tech had at least a legitimate reason to make the step up in class back then.
I bet you hate your next door neighbor who went on to become a doctor while you still work as a waiter at your local chain restaurant. Sorry that some have a better vision of their life and are not complacent mediocrity. That vision takes hard work, something I guess McNeese was not willing to put in the effort to do.

I watched every game, they are dog shite, my dude. Worst LSU team I have ever witnessed.
You better hope they don’t pair LSU with ULL in a bowl game. It would sure be embarrassing if the worst LSU team in the last 20 years beats the best ULL team ever.
That would NEVER happen because LSU would pull out of that game faster than a speeding bullet. They would pull a LaTech and then not go bowling.

They are an embarrassment. Should be a state law against them branding as Louisiana. Makes the state look bad.
Technically there is. They actually have no right to use the name and our state senate should stand up and tell them to knock this shite off.

Section III, Guideline C: The use of the two-letter University of Louisiana abbreviation, “UL,” and/or the phrase “U of L” are prohibited by the university or any of its affiliated organizations (alumni associations, development foundations, bookstores, etc.). For academic, public relations, athletic, as well as other purposes not specified, the use of the University of Louisiana abbreviation must always include the abbreviation for the municipal location of the institution. For example, ULR is appropriate for University of Louisiana at Rayne. Section III, Guideline D: All uses of the name “University of Louisiana” must be followed by the word “at” and the institution’s geographic location. No typographic variations within the name are permitted. The word “at” must be no less than 50% and the geographic location must not exceed 100% nor be less than 80% of the University of Louisiana name. Any institutional use of “University of Louisiana” without the “at” and geographic location is prohibited."
You obviously don't understand the difference between a school name and a school moniker. The school name is University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The school moniker is Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns, or the Ragin Cajuns, or the Cajuns,...
LSU's school name is Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical. The school moniker is LSU Tigers, Purple and Gold, LSU,...
A school can use any moniker they deem themselves. There is no governing body yet to state otherwise.
Until you can understand this, there is really no help for you.

I'm surprised it took that long if Woodward opened with $10 million per year, with a chance up to $15 million/yr. That nearly quadrupled what he was making at ND.
The next words out of BK's mouth should have been "Where do I sign?". 5 minutes and done.

I love watching Tiger in a tournament, especially when he is in contention, but how is this different from every other year he has played since his 5th year on tour. Tiger has always picked and chose his tournaments.
Looks like Taysom Hill

Great question. I'm originally from up north, but have now lived in the Acadiana area for over half my life. I was a fan of sports up north and wanted to fill that void down here. I prefer college over high school and UL is my closest venue. So I have become invested in the University and culture over the last 25+ years.
Back to your question. I have always wondered why this university has not been able to sustain large crowds on a year to year basis. I think the previous administration holds the most blame in this. Football was not a priority for them. Authemont could care less about the athletic program and it showed on the field. Yes, they had some good years every now and then, but far and few in between all the down years. Plus they held onto coaches that were not producing way too long.
New administration and AD have changed that culture and realize that the athletic programs are as important to the school funding as any academic programs. Hence the winning and somewhat national recognition. BUT with that said, because it was 50 plus years of "don't care attitude" by the administration, it will take probably that long to ensure the local population that this University is starting to become legit. 4 years under Napier and not a down year yet.
Ricky Bustle came in and brought some very good athletes to this program, just wasn't the coach to put it all together. Mark Hudspeth took his athletes and had winning seasons and won bowl games, but his rah-rah approach to coaching wore off fast. But that got this program some attention which aloud coaches on the upswing to take notice and want to come here....the Billy Napier's of the world.
And back to your original question. I always thought there were two ways to fill the Cajun stadium on a weekly basis...
1. Bring in the P5 schools like LSU, Florida, Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame....and people will come to see those schools in their stadium.
2. Play those same P5 schools at their stadium, the LSU's, Florida's, Alabama's, Clemson's, Notre Dames'....AND BEAT THEM, and beat them soundly. Then when you play at home, no matter if you are playing the local high school, people will come out to see the team that just beat the P5 school at their own stadium.
However, I have no clue as to why the Cajuns can't fill their stadium on a consistent basis. It is really a shame. They are missing out on a great coach who has put a quality product on the field. I was there last night and I know 16k+ was announced as attendance, but if there was 6K there last night, I would be very much surprised.
