And speaking of which, our basketball team sits at 20-5 and has actually seen the postseason in the last decade. Which tournament has Tulane gone to during that time period?
I apologize. You are right.
Congratulations on your last NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament appearance in 2014.
Big12 and PAC-12 will value that recent basketball success pretty highly along with the fact that Kenny Chesney played the CajunDome in 2007.

How many schools that have moved into or swapped to a different power conference in the past 25 years have been successful? Utah, TCU, and…..?
Now give me an example of a school that came into a Power Conference from a Non-Power Conference (ACC/C-USA/MW) and didn’t do well?

Yet you talk about "sustainability" with Tulane because they've had a few recent regular season wins.
Remind me again. Since you like to bring up our 2014 NCAA tournament appearance, when was the last time Tulane went to the Dance?

ULL isn’t even a real school. They’re just a front for the crawfish mafia’s money laundering.

That's rich coming from a school whose booster stole from a Children's Hospital to pay a player.

Louisville
Had a Heisman trophy winner, won multiple New Years Day Bowls, several seasons finishing inside the top 25 and even top 10. They've had a rough 3-4 yr stretch, but have had some success, though not sustained.

Does the old Big East count as a non-power conference? If so, I think all of their teams except Virginia Tech have fared worse in their leagues - Miami most notably.
If the Big East didn’t count, then it’s a fair point, but the sample size is only 2 in recent memory - TCU and Utah. Those two were pulling double digit wins nearly every season at the non-BCS AQ level.

1995: When Tulane beat BYU in the first round.
Which ironically, it happens to be three years after the last time ULL actually won a tournament game (1992).
So to that effect, both teams have been way below average the last 25 years in Men’s Basketball with 0 combined tournament wins between them.
But Tulane is on the rise in hoops with a much higher ceiling to potentially win a first round game.

Tulane needs to act now to use the Cotton Bowl to their advantage That gets Big 12 into Sec territory and a new market
Who said they didn’t? Neither of those schools are as popular nationally as the ones the big 12 and the pac 12 are adding.

So you're admitting that Tulane has not even SEEN the NCAA tournament in 28 years. The Cajuns have been there 4 times since and that doesn't include the NIT.
To totally ignore this and say we can't "sustain success" while pointing out Tulane's one lone season run is either agenda driven or foolish.
Seriously, compare the big 3 (football, basketball, and baseball) in last 15 years between both schools and tell me who's had more success overall. Not just one season. Not just some one month regular season run. Overall.

In 8 years of ACC play, they are 54-45 (33-33).
In the prior decade, they won two BCS games. They went from conference contenders and major bowl winners to a .500 program.

Tulane should be in the sec

Tulane's best chance of promotion will come when the XII raid the 4C and then the PAC will clamor for a good academic school.

This didn’t happen. You know that, though. You’re just always looking up at daddy LSU.

I actually think Tulane fits in the ACC. ACC will need to make moves soon.
ULaLa won’t go higher that the AAC if they get that high.

You are being dishonest to yourself, if you believe that ULL wouldn’t trade all their NCAA tournament 0-1 appearances in the last 15 years and their New Orleans Bowls for a single NY6 Bowl Victory against a P5 Heisman Trophy winner.

So you are counting those 8, but leaving off the previous 8 where they made the jump up from CUSA to a power conference? I said they haven't sustained the success long term, but definitely have had success and not been a complete bottom dweller since moving up from CUSA.

I'd love for the conference to have a pod of SMU/Rice/Tulane/Vandy.

Look at the caliber of conference opponents each faces; apples to oranges
