He could have taken two knees and punted to Detroit who would have had the ball with less than 25 seconds left with no timeouts. He should absolutely be fired. Jim Caldwell tried his best to be worse than Mike Smith, but Smith wanted to prove himself as the worst coach in the league.

It is a 10 second runoff but that only happens if the clock is running when the infraction occurs. In this case the clock was stopped so no runoff
