Top two get byes. Next four play in to get to the semi’s. All games on campus at higher seed.

6 was the right number. Regular season still has tremendous value and other bowls maintain a little bit of value. This current situation is not great.

It was never about a 10th or 12th ranked team winning it all… the winner will be Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia, or Texas

Eight teams, all played at neutral sites located indoors.

Home field advantage in below freezing temps is a huge factor in these games.

Why should they be inside?

NFL plays AFC title games in Kansas City annually or fing Boston when Brady was there

Correct, which is why a 12 team playoff is asinine

I mean if Ohio state or Penn state had to travel to Death Valley or the Swamp for one of these games it would be just as tough.

I said the same many times. 8 at the most, but 6 was ideal. 12 jumped the shark in the name of $$$$$

Ohio State probably wouldn’t have been in a six team playoff and is probably the best team left in this thing. Pretty silly to suggest that after tonight.

Football is an outdoor endeavor, sport. Are these kids going to start complaining when they have to play in Green Bay, Cleveland, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Boston, Seattle, et al in the pros?

I've been saying this, but I am alone I guess.

Most people want to expand, but I don't really agree.

Then play well enough that you don’t have this happen to you

Most of these will be indoors sooner rather than later unfortunately

12 would be perfect with 2 fixes:

1. 1st round and quarterfinals should be on campuses. Byes are nice and all but the top 4 seeds should get to play a game in front of a home crowd.

2. Conference championship games need to go away. Regular season champions get the automatic bid. Eliminating conference championship games would get rid of a Clemson situation where a team backdoors into the playoff and would also get rid of a situation where teams like Texas and UGA could play a 3rd time.

That would be ideal, but there’s no chance that the big conferences are getting rid of the conference title games.

For the same reason they expanded and some teams are getting locked out - money. Curb your greed and it can happen.
