But he should have the ability to save a list of usernames, email addresses, and karma points. Just wondering if he could do that legally.
If not, all the users could migrate to the new site but have to start over, and a few users might lose their old handles to someone who doesn't like them and wants to cockblock them.
The guy who sued the owner is a moron. The value of a site like that is the user community. Once he takes over and there's a mass exodus, those servers are barely worth the hardware. I saw it with a site where a new owner took over and tried to make it a subscription site. The site is now defunct.

texags did the same thing to texas tech. back when leach was literally anally raping A&M while using chalk as lube, there was a thread on texags about everyone bringing mirrors to kyle field to blind the tech players. it made its way to the tech board and that in hand lead its way to news stations all over the wonderful texas panhandle
i also think that thread made its way to the A&M president's office and they had a big PR thing about how they wouldnt allow mirrors into the game
