Then you’re in good company with the OKC haters. They like to root for the officials though.

Glad you’re enjoying the basketball, we need more people like you around here.

It’s funny to see the haters act like this is something unique to SGA. Y’all have a massive case of TDS.

They don’t care. They have a collective memory of a slug.

He almost did this for an entire season in 22/23.

He's not playing well and still averaging nearly 30 a game plus 8 assists. All while being double and triple teamed. Sometimes all five guys on defense are focused on him. That's a tremendous amount of gravity and it's allowing our role players to get open looks. There's a lot of value in that since he's not hitting shots that he normally does. His playmaking ability has been great in the absence of good shooting.

This tells me you don’t watch games. His value is drawing extra bodies and this opens up other players. He’s seeing the court so well and is making all the right decisions. If anything he needs to take more shots earlier in games but they have an overall strategy to involve other players more earlier to counter what SA is doing to stop SGA.

Playoffs are always different than reg season if thats your comparison. A series allows so many micro adjustments to be made and you have 2 weeks to do nothing but find any weaknesses. Vs reg season one game sets where very little game planning is involved in comparison.

Looking at last year vs this year its very close.

He's shooting 1 more FT, 3 less shots & 1.7 assists more per game.

I can’t believe so many fell for misguided data. It explains a majority of the OKC hate posts though.

MJ, Kobe, and Bron have 21 seasons combined with more free throw attempts than SGA had this year.

Shai’s ‘22-‘23 season with 739 FTA ranks 144th most in a single season

Comparing to other legends of the sport

Only because he was so efficient in the first round. Here are his stats from the last two series:

Vs Lakers: 24.5/6.3/2.3 on 47/33 shooting splits with 4 turnovers a game. That's terrible against a Lakers team with horrible POA defenders.

Vs Spurs: 26.2/9.8/3 on 39/33 shooting splits with 3.4 turnovers a game. Horrible efficiency.

That's pretty rough from a supposed best player in the world candidate. He's the only guy in that convo who can play this poorly and be carried by his team though.

That has nothing to do with my post and the 22.23 season. In 22/23 Shai made 10.4 FGPG, he made 9.8 FTPG.

The most FT's MJ made in a single season was 10.2, but he made 13.4 baskets a game.

You're also taking MJ and others highest FTA season ever when MJ played 82 games andnot Shai's highest season and a season when he only played 68 games. Of course there's going to be a significant gap.

Edit: Also, I guess you just can't grasp in your head how Shai flopping makes people hate him more. It's not hard to understand.

I’ve tried and have enjoyed the knicks and spurs but the way OKC plays is exactly why I can’t stand watching much NBA anymore.

Harden when he made 16 free throws and only 12 FGs back in his Thunder days.

I’m sure that was a great series Jim had, analytically.
