So what exactly happened? I have yet to see video or hear what the deal is.
The poster who compared it to the Monstars stealing the NBA players' talent in Space Jam was spot on. I've never seen anything like that.

Mackey Shilstone of New Orleans is her Physical Trainer and has been writing reports for The Sometimes-Picayune from Wimbledon. I am anxiously awaiting his column tomorrow.
I doubt if we hear or see anything more about Serena from Mackey. There was a tone of finality in his last report. Like he is fed up.

Yeah Venus knew. She didn't seem too concerned, just kinda like "try to get through it."
She could barely bounce a ball. I would go vertigo or something like that.

I watched it and watched Venus's reaction to it. I can only come to one conclusion. She high.

I think she has a bit of a weird personality and acts childish sometimes when she loses, but people go overboard. I hate to say it, but I think there is a touch of racism in it. People knock her for coming into some majors borderline fat and out of shape, but she still won many of them in that condition. We are basically talking about the third best woman of all time IMO (at worst), so I don't think she is really open for a lot of criticism.
very well said. it's crazy that people will defend their favorite football (or other sports) players no matter what they pull yet decry serena for basically nothing.

Her outburst a few years back at the U.S. open when she confronted that line judge was disturbing. And the next day she said she did nothing wrong. Lost a lot of respect for when that happened.
I wouldn't call that basically nothing.

i would especially compared to a thief or other lawbreaking types that many will put on a pedestal if they are good athletes.

I'm no doctor but I have a family member who has had vertigo due to an ear infection. With true vertigo, you can't walk a straight line without help. There were several times in the video where Serena walked several steps without help.
It looked like there was a lag between what her brain told her extremities to do and the response from the extremities. I'm not going to speculate on what caused it but she and her sister didn't seem too concerned that it was going on.

come on
McEnroe is semi celebrated for being a childish prat on the court. They even made commercials poking fun about it.

not every case is exactly the same

So, Venus is the only sister on this planet that doesn't give 2 shits that her sister is basically losing the ability to function? That shite would be alarming in one's living room, how could she let her sister go through that on national television?
Has there ever been an athlete brought to tears on the sideline because of a virus that rendered their extremities useless? Get me to the fricking hospital.
All I'm saying is not one part of what happened, including her statement, leads me to believe it was medical. And before I get called a racist(I can't believe I need to add this), I wouldn't look down on Serena if she walked out on the court with a beer helmet on and said lets do this. Just what I saw in the video.

What is with all the Williams hate? You do realize she is one of the most Drug tested tennis athletes in the world.
My dislike for her has zero to do with her doing drugs. She has no respect for herself or her trade. She has zero respect for her opponents or the people who run the events.
I personally don't know what was wrong with her yesterday and to be perfectly honest, I really don't care. She could have been high or drunk or basically just didn't want to be there. Doesn't matter. I will never have respect to he based on how she has handled herself in her career

She was sick in on some hard endoponic if you catch me.

I wasn't around then but have heard of his antics. I doubt he ever threatened to kill the linejudge though. Like I said the day after she said when she is on the court that she is in some different zone and didn't really remember what she said. That was a little over the top.

she was out of line in that instance but like another poster pointed out famous players like connors and johnny mac were famous for being terrible sports and ugly, abusive jerks... but they won and they were american so they generally got a pass

"You're blind. The ball was in."
That's a jerk.
"I'm going to kill you."
That's Serena. It's not a fine line. Can't compare Connors/Mac to that waste of skin sociopath.

Whoa I wouldn't go this far. I lost respect for her not fessing up to what she did. In the heat of the moment in an intense match I can see her losing focus. And I think she thinks she is entitled to calls. What she did was way overboard but her arrogance is what gets me.
