For LSU standards and any non blue blood program for that matter he had a very successful tenure. Including the COVID year that was cancelled as LSU would have gotten in, he went to 4 straight tourneys and the team in 22-23 was shaping up talent wise/ experience and depth was shaping up to be his best and easily most balanced roster.

I didn't pay attention to Michigan this year. They were a dumpster fire last year, 3-17 in the Big 10. Fired Howard and the new coach won the B10 tournament and has them as the five seed in year one?

“Successful for a non blue-blood” and “built a monster” are very different things.
Want an example? LSU football 2019 was a monster.
Brian Kelly’s first LSU team (SEC West champs) = a good start, but hardly a monster.
Will “I can’t get past the Sweet 16” Wade did not build a monster. The only monster Will “the Cheat” Wade built was monsterous investigations.

I agree. They are probably pretty underseeded. But, it probably has more to do with Clemson than it does the low major schools coach? Wouldn’t you say? I don’t really have a dog in the fight, but I usually root for the Louisiana schools. Maybe Clemson isn’t that great. Maybe the pokes pull an upset. Crazier things have happened.

I'm a realist in this part - when McNeese loses in the NCAAT, you and many others are going to rejoice and circle jerk each other. Meanwhile, LSU is one of only two SEC programs to not even make the NCAAT. 14 SEC teams make the NCAAT. McNeese made the NCAAT.

frick-off! I graduated before you were born and watched Joe Dumars, John Rudd and the Lawrence brothers (Edmond vs. Robert Parish). I sent the NIT a nasty letter when they screwed-over a McNeese team that beat USL and still picked USL instead. They'll probably lose, but I'll be happy if they win.
