re: Scott Van Pelt To Leave ESPN Radio's 'SVP And Russillo' To Host ESPN's Midnight

Simmons isn't the best at creating traffic for his projects which I guess is pretty important. The mass public doesn't want to read Grantland because their columns and stories are longer than 3 paragraphs.

From what I understand, Simmons was sick of it, so he got his manager to ask for an amount he knew ESPN wouldn't pay.

Why do people still watch ESPN and listen to their radio? People on here complain so much about it, but sure seems like they still tune in.

Apparently loads of people love Mike and Mike. I can't stand it. Everything is a cheesy gimmick or an advertisement for something.
You could put anything on during the East Coast commute and get ratings. I refuse to believe that anyone with an IQ above 50 actually enjoys Mike and Mike.

I say you give the spot to Negandhi

Every now and then they can strike gold, because Golic starts with the old war stories and Greenberg seems to be able to keep him from going on tangents.
Then they crack a joke about how whacky they are.

ESPN Radio is actually pretty legit. In the afternoons at least.

Negandhi and Russillo would work in my opinion

Russillo cannot be the main person on a show, he's too big an a-hole.
If Dari Nokah can handle him, I think he's a good radio talent, but honestly SVP was that show.

So does anyone have any solid news? I tried searching, but this thread was the only thing that popped up.

Yea as said, M&M gets people because they are on in the mornings, and they are the national show in the am. I should take this opportunity and have my own show, where I blatantly talk about how I'm an Ohio State fan. I can then bring in Cris Carter, Robert Smith, Herbie, Chris Spielman and Joey Galloway on a rotating day by day basis.
Call it, ESPN's Buckeye Zone

Negandhi is a cool MFer and has been around ESPN for a while. Good personality and smart

i can live with greenie, he's good at keep the show moving and on pace. I would rather him get a new color guy, golic's opinions are amateur at best and always predictable.

...well that totally sucks ... SVP-Rusillo is actually listenable and enjoyable sports talk , with some added subtle humor ... dammit !

It's nice to see & hear how you all feel about @SVPandRussillo I share that love. Will talk about what went into this today on the show.

@DanRubenstein It will be S/C. Just my idea of it. With @EricBandRakim as house band. The last part is not true.

Ugh of course I'm on an audit today, so it'll be tough to listen.

Oh Greeny you're such a dweeb! Oh Golic you're so fat!
haw haw haw hee heee haaaa he called him fat
its so awful. I used to leave it on as I got ready simply due to force of habit, but I can't even tolerate it as background noise anymore. Their over rehearsed bits they try to pass off as ad libbed are just so awful. Not even going to get into those shitty Johnsonville brat commercials they do...
and then you have Cowherd who has just gotten increasingly lazy, he's basically either trolling or giving you his dumbass theories on life and why he's so successful.
That's what was great about SVP and Russilo, there was no gimmick to them, just 2 guys shooting the shite about sports and discussing them the way you do with your own friends. Very genuine show, damn shame they're breaking it up.

Svp & Russillo rarely get shitted on here and it just about the only likable radio show on ESPN. It really is the only thing I consume from ESPN other than live sports and some gameday
Do I really have to explain why people who post on a sport message watch the biggest and most popular sports network?
