What a load of shite. The substance was resin. An approved substance. Meanwhile, the Yankee pitcher is told to go and wash his hands before taking the mound.

So this process is pretty much a subjective thing, huh? There's no testing of the substance, the league office just takes the word of some umpires that his glove was "too sticky" and the guy gets a 10-game suspension. It's laughable.

He's appealing but how could he ever get it overturned when the decision was pretty much based on opinion? It's one guy's word against another's?

Completely.

quote:

“I said this to Buck (Showalter) and to Max, it really didn’t matter to us what it is. All we know that it was far stickier than anything that we felt certainly today and anything this year,” Cuzzi said.

That’s the explanation the ump gave for why he tossed him.

This ump just arbitrarily determining what’s too sticky is such a MLB umpire move it’s pathetic

Provide the chemical analysis then if you don’t think it was resin.

You mean “Rosin?” Again you’re spinning the story, both were told to wash their hands, not just German. After they did the Ump in the Yankee game said German’s “pinky was still a little tacky”, the Ump for Scherzer determined his entire hand was still covered in rosin. Big difference, your narrative not withstanding.

majority of suspensions in mlb get cut in half or so.

so 10 becomes 7, and he misses 1 start. Doesnt hurt pitchers, compared to 7 games missed as a hitter

The rule is clearly being applied inconsistently no matter how bad you want to simp for MLB umpires. Resin is not an illegal substance and there is no standard for measuring stickiness or for how much is too much.

Umpires/sports officials at large, are the arbiters of the rules and integrity of the game.

You just contradicted and grenaded your entire argument.

Not simping for anybody, you’re just factually incorrect and don’t know what you’re talking about.

Only there isn’t any rule that states what is and isn’t too sticky.

You knew that though, bitch arse blue.

Link me the rule about stickiness levels and how that’s determined.

Here is Jomboy's YT video of the entire ordeal.

For those who aren't familiar, this is Jomboy Media, he breaks down videos of officials/player conversations and lip reads the entire conversation. He is really good and he's funny.

Mad Max gets tossed.
