Saban stated, that universitys are asking for money from Fans and Alum to get certain players from the portal.

Saban stated that if you are a fan and putting up hard earned money to get this one great player to come to LSU. Well , he comes and then he leaves the next year for another big pay day.

There needs to be a clause in the NIL contract to stop this from happening.

What's are your thoughts?

There need to be some stability in the business of college athletics. Sure there should be contracts to protect players and the universities.

But college athletics needs to behave more like a business. For one thing counting on fans to help build facilities, pay coaches and now players is not good business practice.

That's not possible.

Pretty simple... There needs to be a player's association and a collective bargaining agreement... If that is done, then the NCAA can bring back the sit-out year. It essentially becomes a non-compete. You do this, and NIL becomes manageable and rosters will stabilize.

And scholarships should be longer than for one year.

If you were allowed to do it in your job, you would. $500,000 to $1,000,000 to $2,000,000 in 3 years. You’re lying if you say you wouldn’t.

It was all good when he was dealing shite under the table, my car and other cash to get all the best players. Now the tables has turned and his fricking arse quit because of it. I don’t like NIL. It is what it is. The NCAA should do something about the transfer portal though. That’s where the issue lies

Need to have 1 of the 2

1. HS recruits are not eligible for any NIL deal until after 1st season is complete.

2. If HS recruits are eligible and sign any NIL deal, they aren’t eligible to transfer until after 2nd season.

My thoughts include the fact that we need to focus more on academics.

We need to stop calling this NIL. What Livvy does is NIL. What’s happening in football is just paying players to perform. No rules, on demand free agency. It’s insane and is killing the sport.

How many times does it have to be stated before it sinks into some of y’all’s thick skulls. The SCOTUS has already ruled on NIL. High School kids can earn NIL money. There’s nothing the NCAA can do about it.

The NCAA was issued a restraining order by a federal judge on transfers and sitting out a year after. NOTHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT!!!

I posted what was needed, not what can be done. You’re gonna start seeing lawyers getting creative with these NIL deals to curb the constant $$ grab every year, like Saban was stating. He didn’t speak on this bc he’s thick headed and nothing can be done.

He went as far last night saying that Congress needs to get involved.

That's all we need, more government intervention
